We were thrilled to have Mrs Banks to cut the ribbon at the gates to the new surface and to declare it formally open. Clearly, the children are thrilled with the new playground and can be seen at every opportunity making the most of this fabulous facility. Once again, my sincere thanks to Andrew Williamson for his ‘vision’ and to the Friends as a whole for their hard work and financial support. Last weekend saw the new style Saturday school work brilliantly. The weather was super, we had some great matches, good results and I think you will all agree a good morning was had by all. I look forward to seeing many of you tomorrow at the Friends’ Quiz and Curry Night. May the best team win! Swimming Success for RachelRachel Shutt had a good weekend of swimming at aBristol North swimming event and then onto theRegional Relay finals on Sunday at Millfield.

Having swum up an age group in the U11 200m Medleyrelay, the team missed out narrowly on gold by "a tenthof a second" but gained a well deserved silver with aPersonal Best for the 50m freestyle of 34 seconds. In

the U10 freestyle relays it was a tough contest, withRachel swimming the final leg and having to dig deep tosecure the team’s gold medal.

Rachel swam in the individual 50m freestyle final andafter a close finish between 2nd, 3rd and 4th place, grabbed the silver.

On Sunday the team travelled to Millfield and missedout on Gold and Regional Championship Team statusby point four of a second to take the silver.
