Smoking is a public health problem for many reasons; first, its
a main risk factor for many diseases
like lung cancer, heart attack, stroke and kidney failure; these
are the principal causes of mortality
around the world in the present day.
Also, smoking nowadays its seen like a trend for adolescents,
they start this vice at younger ages.
Either they have smoking parents that bring the bad example at
home, or the social pressure of
their so-called friends that encourage that behavior.
Whenever a smoker lights a cigarette, the smoke does not only
affect the yellow-fingered with
the cigarette on his mouth, people who are around them are at
increased risk of those diseases
too. In public places like restaurants and parks, this can
damage little children, pregnant woman
and elder people.
One day I saw a sign in a restaurant that said: smoking is a
suicide, please commit suicide in
another place. I think if a person wants to hurt himself by
smoking, be my guest; but dont playwith other peoples lives. So, in
public places smoking should be forbidden.
