Toastertalinka Treasures are a new idea and creation by Mike
Filippello.
Who is Mike Filippello?
He is anAmerican Folk Artist, Illustrator, and Published Author of
2 published childrens books- In a place called Barrontippeny and
MiratamboMoonsong.
He has been writing and illustrating his own line of childrens
books for nearly 20 years.
Painting American Folk Art for the last 8 years.
Had paintings published in Dcor Magazine and Art Business News,
where in March 2007 he was published as an Emerging Artist.
Determined, Driven, Persistent to Succeed in the fields of Art,
Publishing, Licensing, Inventing, and Merchandising of his own
product line.
5. Toastertalinka Treasures is a gift idea that I came up with and
the simple premise of a toaster sitting on a kitchen counter in
front of a window. There is a picture in the window of some trees
or whatever scene that can be imagined.
Basically the toaster pops up the toast and the piece of toast has
a picture on it that completes the picture. There is a white
negaitve space in the window scene that is blank or white space
that allows the slice of toast to fill in the space.
This can work for any kind of art- Realistic, folk art,
impressionistic, even abstract. Its like a puzzle and the piece of
the toast completes the picture.
This is a simple and innovative idea bringing together the simple
idea that art is everywhere and anything can be a piece of
art.
