    It is with mixed emotions that I submit this letter of resignation. As with many people, life takes you in new directions and the unexpected helps you set new priorities--as it has for me. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on the Council and wish you great success in the future.

    Sincerely,

    Debra Glass, Chair Youth Council Department of Workforce Investment 1880 Wardrobe Ave.     Merced, CA 95341

    Dear Debra;

    As you may have heard I will soon be retiring from the UC Cooperative Extension office.  While I have enjoyed the time I have served on the WIA Youth Council, it is time that I step down from this position.  Please accept my resignation from the Youth Council effective December 31, 2011. Over the recent years I has been harder for me to make all of the meetings and participate as fully as I would have liked.  With the new changes in front of me with retirement, I will have other commitments to fill my time.  This will include spending time with our grandson.

    If I do not make it to the next Youth Council meeting please extend my thanks to all of the members.  I have enjoyed interacting with so many wonderful people on the council over the years.  All of whom are working for a better community here in Merced.  I have also attached a retirement flyer for a celebration event on January 7th, feel free to share as you see fit with the Youth Council and others.

    Thanks again.
