1. Complete the Gate Way Scholarship Application (return it to the Alex City Chamber located on Highway 280 next to US AmeriBank)
2. Complete CACC’s Admissions Application Packet
3. Complete CACC’s Scholarship Application Packet
4. Submit the FAFSA on-line (by no later than March 1st).
5. Turn in all required CACC documents to the Guidance Department by Monday, January 28, 2019.
Once the CACC Application Packet has been completed and turned in to Guidance by the deadline date, CACC will receive the documents from the Guidance Department. Once CACC awards their scholarships, students who WERE NOT awarded CACC scholarships will then become eligible to receive the Gate Way scholarship.

Air Force and Society
General Henry H. Arnold Education Grant Program
The Air Force Aid Society offers need-based grants ranging from $500 to $4,000 through the General Henry H. Arnold Education Grant Program. The program is open to dependent children of active duty, retired and deceased U.S. Air Force members. Applicants must plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.
General Arnold Education Grant Program applicants are also reviewed for eligibility under the Society’s Merit Scholarship Program. This program awards at least ten $5,000 scholarships to incoming college freshmen with top grade point averages.

Jim Harrell Poetry Prize
1. Each contestant should submit one (1) poem only, typed in a plain font on 8½ x 11-inch paper. Clear photocopies are acceptable.
2. The poem should not be more than one hundred (100) lines long.
3. The poet’s name, address or any other identifying attribute should not appear on the poem.
4. A cover sheet should be included that lists the poet’s name, address, phone number, email, the name and signature of the guidance counselor or sponsoring teacher, the name of the high school (if applicable) and the title of the poem. The following statement should be included on the cover sheet with the poet’s signature: “I hereby certify that the poem (insert title) is my original work and that all rights to this poem are mine.”

6. Entries must be postmarked by February 15. No late entries will be accepted.
