The decision about which sports to play or participate in is affected by many things including the people around you.

Many factors can have a major influence on a persons level of physical activity.

Transport for training/fixtures

Money for equipment / clothing

Support your chosen sport

Funding sports/activity holidays or trips

Spectators – will they stay and watch

Role models – is sport valued within the family?

If a groups attitude to sport is negative it becomes harder for sporty individuals within the group to play sport and they will most likely develop the same attitude / peer pressure

To participate in sports it costs money e.g. clothing, equipment, travel

Some sports are more expensive – e.g. Dance, Show jumping, Skiing
