Dear Fri~nd 5:

With the end of European hostilities,we have all expectedor hoped for an easing in the regulations and a greater sup-ply of meats, sugar, butter and other rationed items for rest-aurants and homes.

However, as you undoubtedly have heard, production ofmeat, sugar, butter etc, has been further curtailed this year, and we are all still called upon to share what we have withour fighting men and the unfortunate people overseas.

Never before have our menu makers been called upon touse so much ingenuity in constru cting menus that are attractiveand appetizing. We deeply regret that we are obliged to carryon With these restricted menus, but we assure our friends thatwhen permitted we shall be the first to restore our peace-tImeice cream and desserts, stea ks, chops and other meats, andall the good dishes for which AI Green's is famous

We are unhappy about the present situation, but beinggood citizens means we must accept sacrifIces as grace-fully as we accept our many privileges Let's hope that peaceand plenty will soon return.
