WELCOME To... We’ve put together a few things you might want to think about bringing with you. None of these are required, or even “recommended”, but we’ve gotten questions about what to bring in the past, and thought this might be helpful. Stony is a bit different than most dorms, in that you will have a full apartment to share with three other students. We suggest that you email your roommates to see who’s bring what, and maybe share on new items that need to be purchased. KITCHEN (ceramic floor): ! Cookware – pots, pans, mixing bowls, cooking utensils ! Toaster oven ! Microwave ! Dinnerware – dishes, glasses, mugs, cutlery ! Coffee maker ! Tea kettle ! Water pitcher/filter ! Kitchen towels ! MISC: can opener, tuberware, travel mug, water bottle LIVING ROOM (carpeted): ! TV/TV stand ! Stereo ! Posters ! Toss pillows ! Area rug BEDROOM (carpeted): ! XL twin sheets/comforter set (it will get COLD in the winter) ! Pillow ! Mattress protector ! Blanket ! Underbed storage ! Bed lifts ! Alarm clock ! Waste basket ! Extension cord ! Drawer organizers ! Hamper ! Batteries ! Fans (it get’s REALLY hot in the early fall/let spring) BATHROOM (ceramic floor): ! Hand towels ! Bath towels ! Wash cloths ! Tub mat/bath rug ! Soap holder ! Toothbrush holder ! Bath storage ! Plunger (Stony toilets EASILY clog!) CLEANING SUPPLIES: ! Vacuum cleaner(the building does not have a vacuum machine!) ! Broom ! Corner duster ! Toilet brush ! Antibacterial wipes ! Sponge/rags ! Tub cleaner (Ajax, Tilex, etc) ! Cleaning liquid – Mrs. Meyers, Seventh Generation, Clorox Cleanup, etc. ! Dish washing liquid (you will not have a dish washer, so you’ll have to wash dishes) NOTE: You are not permitted to put holes in the walls. You are only allowed to use COMMAND STRIPS to hang things.
