How to Add Images and (hyperlinked) Text to Slideshow: 

Note about slide image sizes: The size of your images must all be the same, and the height to width 

ratio determined how large your slideshow will be due to the responsive design of the 2.0 platform.  The 

greater the difference in the height to width ratio, the “slimmer” thinner the slideshow will be (i.e. 1:6) 

versus a smaller difference will create a more square and “boxy” look (i.e. 1:3).  If your slides are 

different sizes, it will cause your slideshow to “jump” between slides, as the slideshow will be resizing 

itself between slides that are different sizes. 

1) Login and go to either Add content in the gray tool bar or in the black tool bar Content > +Add 

content. 

 

2) On the Add Content page, scroll down and select Roller image. 

 

3) Enter a Title for your slide that will be used for identification of that slide in the workarea.  If you are 

using a textbox, add a title to your slideshow in the Body along with subtext.  Apply a heading style to 

the main title for the textbox.  If you want any of the text to hyperlink, use the hyperlink took to link the 

text to another page. 

 

If you are using just images with text on them and you want the images to hyperlink.  First, contact your 

Project Manager or Jvillage Support – that functionality must be added to the slideshow.  Then, second, 

you will add text to the body that is hyperlinked in order for the slide image to hyperlink. 

4)  Scroll down and change the Sort order to place the slide in order of its appearance.  We suggest using 

10s to determine the order rather than 1s so you can insert slides in between slides in the future. Give 

the slide a Sort Order number of 10, 20, 30, 40, etc.   We suggest not having more than 8 slides on your 

homepage slideshow. 

Then select Choose File to upload your image. 

 

 

5) After your images uploads, you will see a thumbnail image of it within File Information box. 

 

6) If you have more than one slideshow in your site (adding an additional slideshow to a page is custom 

work, so not all site will have more than one page to choose from and slide will automatically appear in 

the homepage slideshow), check the box for the page you want the image to appear on. 

  

 

7) Scroll down and Save. 

8) Your slide should now appear on the slideshow.  If you hyperlinked text in the textbox, check that link. 

If you want to change the order of the slides, you will need to change the Sort Order number for each 

slide.
