Payment System for the 2017 UTME
ePINs were sold at N5,200 to Partners & N5,500 to candidates
Banks were also asked to deploy mobile teams to all accredited CBT Centers

For the 2017 Registration exercise, ePINs were sold through Banks and partner Institutions
JAMB implemented a central ePIN vending system
Other channels employed included switches like Remitta & Interswitch

All CCTV Systems must be wired. No more wireless CCTV Systems
Centres are to ensure re-validation of
their SIM-serial numbers : supply serial
number for validation
Holding Rooms must be in good proximity to the examination hall & must be adequately sized
Make-shift CBT centres are NOTallowed; all centres must therefore be dedicated CBT centres that are used and maintained as such all year round

All centres must be within MTN or AIRTEL network coverage
All Centre networks must be powered by Switches. No hubs allowed
Centres are strongly advised to use static IP addresses rather than Dynamic IP Addressing
Conveniences both within the Examination hall and waiting areas

No more scanning of Picture. All pictures will be captured live through USB cameras
All registration points must have dual screens each facing the operator and candidate. Candidates must be able to review their data before submission

All centres will be required to capture minimum sample of 20 candidates before commencement of registration
Every Centre must open NOT less than 10 registration points
All registrations require biometric fingerprint authentication to print
LED table top lights must be provided for bright picture
New Examination Requirements Downloading of JAMB Custom Browser
website & installation on every system before accreditation
During examination, communication signals from, into and around the examination centre shall be restricted through the use of electronic signal Jammer
Only 3 pre-registered CBT Centre personnel will be allowed into the examination hall
No payment for any session which does not simultaneously accommodate the prescribed total capacity for the session

Provision of adequate number of WALL CLOCKS
Centres are required to trunk all electrical and network cables (Exposed or flying cables are no longer allowed)
All persons (officials & candidates) are prohibited from bringing any banned item into the examination hall e.g wrist watches, electronic devices, pen/biro

CBT centres are to open bank accounts with any of the 11 participating banks
2018 ePIN Payment Process by Candidates

1. One cell (mobile) number can be used by one candidate only. The
Cell phone number used for the text message is automatically tied to the
Candidate’s name and will be used in all communications related to his/her 2018
Application/Examination
2. Candidate sends his/her name [Surname, First Name & Middle Name (if any)] by text (SMS) to 55019. This should be maximum of 38
characters + 2 spaces between names = 40 characters in all
3. A Profile Code is received by the candidate on the same telephone number
4. The candidate presents the Profile Code to the point of procurement of form (Banks, MMOs, MFBs, Switches, USSD Partners). The form ePIN is then sent as text message to the candidate
5. The candidate presents the ePIN at any JAMB accredited CBT Centre for registration
SELF HELP IN CASE OF
MISTAKE OR LOSS OF PROFILE CODE
To correct a mistake in candidate’s name, send the
[CORRECT Surname First-name Middle-Name] to
55019 as a text message from the same mobile number
To retrieve a lost profile code, send [RESEND] to
55019 as a text message from the same mobile number

HOW TO RECOVER LOST ePIN
AFTER PAYMENT
If ePIN is not Received or Lost, send
[UTMEPIN] or [DEPIN] to 55019 for
UTME or DE respectively from the unique
number
The ePIN would then be retrieved and
delivered on the candidate’s unique number
