PREVENTIVE MAINTENANC E SERVIC ESAdded)1. General

To insure that the heating kettle is ready for operation at alltimes, it must be inspe ted systematically, so that defects may bediscovered and correctedbefore they result in serious damage orfailure. The necessary Preventive Maintenance Services to beperformed are listed and described in paragraphs 2 and 3. Theitem numbers indicate the sequence o f minimum inspe tion requirements. D efects discovered during operation of the unit shallbe noted for future correction, to be made as soon as operationhas ceased. Stop operation immediately if a deficiency is no tedduring operation which would damage theequipment if operationwere continued. All deficiencies and shortcomings will be reco rded,together with the corrective action taken, on D A Form 2404Equipment Inspection and Maintenance W ork Sheet at theearliest possible opportunity.
