Staff Engagement: How? Staff Survey

•83% said they would use the Image Bank• 95% of staff use Powerpoint or similar in their teaching• 18% use traditional slides• 90% use Google • 82% use their own images • 63% use online galleries & art libraries• 71% want to see staff & student work• 71% want to see samples from other existing digital collections• 46% feel that copyright is irrelevant when choosing images

Staff Engagement: How?• targeted those that said they had archives of student work• targeted academics who were advertising their exhibitions • approached a number of collections • (got on with creating the Image Bank..)

Staff Response: Why?• nothing to show?• timing?• staff not convinced?• culture of ownership?• fear of disclosure?

My Thoughts• focus on acquisition once project is visible• incentivise staff• clarify the regulations• extensibility & ownership of Image Bank• collaborate with other departments• embed & be seen to embed• start small.. Have patience!
