ContentsChristmas Biscuits

You will need:Biscuits:50g Sugar150g Plain Flour (or gluten-free alternative)100g Butter (or milk-free alternative)

Icing:200g Icing SugarWaterSprinkles/Food colouring/Decorations

Equipment:Baking parchmentBaking trayBiscuit cutter (or an upside down glass)BowlRolling PinWeighing ScalesWire wrack

To make:1. Pre-heat the oven to 150c2. Chop the butter into small pieces and rub together with the flour in a mixing bowl until you get small crumbs3. Add the sugar to the bowl and mix it together to make a dough 4. Wrap the dough in clingfilm, and place in the fridge for 30 minutes 5. Roll out until they are a few millimetres thick and cut out into shapes and place on baking parchment on a baking tray6. Bake in the pre-heated oven for 7-10 minutes - keep checking to make sure they don’t overcook, all ovens can be different7. Once cooked, leave to cool on a wire rack8. When cool, make your icing and decorate your biscuits.

Sock Snowman

You will need:1 sock (white)2 googly eyes1 nose pom pom1 hat pom pom (optional)2 pieces of ribbon/string or 2 elastic band

RiceGlueA funnel (or paper folded into a cone)Felt tips or other decorations (optional)

To make:1. Use your funnel (or homemade funnel) to fill the sock about two-thirds full of rice.2. Gather the top of the sock in your hand (the bit without

the rice). Twist it once. Use your string, ribbon, or elastic band to tie the sock closed.

3. Next, split the rice-filled section up to make the body and the head. You might want to make the

head a bit smaller than the body. 4. Using a piece of ribbon, string, or another elastic band, tie the snowman where you’ve divided the two rice sections.5. Fold the top half of the sock over to give

your snowman a hat. You might want to roll it over twice if you want a smaller hat.6. Glue your googly eyes and pom pom nose onto your snowman. If you’re adding

a pom pom to the top of the hat, then glue that on, too

You will need:

1 rubber

1 pencil

1 piece of green card

1 piece of yellow felt or yellow card

Scissors

Glue

To make:

1. Fold your green piece of card in a concertina

2. Carefully cut it into a triangle shape

3. Take your pencil, and push it through the middle of the concertina. Make sure that it goes in and out of every fold and that you push it through point first.

4. Push your pencil into the rubber to make it stand.

5. Cut out your star and glue it to the top. You could also add some more sequins as decoration if you wanted to.
