KEVIN CLARK Friday, February 25 th 7:30 p.m. CREATIVE WRITING READING SERIES 2010-2011 UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT SAN ANTONIO MAIN CAMPUS UNIVERSITY ROOM BUSINESS BUILDING 2.06.04 (FIRST FLOOR) The University of Texas at San Antonio Kevin Clark’s second collection of poetry, Self-Portrait with Expletives, won the 2009 Pleiades Press contest and was published in the Lena-Miles Wever Todd Poetry Series in 2010. His first book of poems, In the Evening of No Warning (New Issues Press, 2002), earned a grant from the Academy of American Poets. He has also published three chapbooks, and his poems, essays, and reviews have appeared in such journals as the Georgia, Iowa, and Antioch Reviews, Gulf Coast, Ploughshares, and Crazyhorse. Pearson Longman publishes his poetry writing textbook, The Mind’s Eye. He teaches at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo and at the Rainier Writing Workshop, a low-residency MFA program in Tacoma.
