Volunteering
• Are you part of any club or organisation that would be willing to take a volunteer?
• You are the expert on your local area!
Skill
• Cooking is a great skill to learn at home and very useful for their expedition! Just make sure to take loads of photos
Physical
• Family walks, bike rides ,activities are all OK for this section

Expedition details-after school
3 step process
1. After school orienteering session
-Ogden Water, every Thursday next half term
-will aim to be back for 4:30/5
--must wear clothes that are OK to get muddy and trainers
-each pupil will attend 2 sessions
Exact dates will be finalised and sent via MyEd

Expedition details-training day
2. Training Day
• Due to large numbers, pupils will either attend the 23rd or 24th April
• Where-Blackhills Campsite, Wilsden
• Aim to get back to school for 5:30
• Pupils will need clothes that are OK to get muddy, strong shoes for walking, rucksack, lunch to cook (details later), rainjacket
• Students will take part in training activities (cooking stoves, menu planning, emergency procedures, route planning) at the campsite, cook lunch and then complete a guided walk around St Ives in Bingley

3. Assessed expedition
• Pass or fail situation
• Students will only attend if behaviour and attendance has been of a good level and they have been completing their other 3 sections
• 2 dates again to avoid clashes with other school trips and large numbers
• Either- Wednesday 6th –Thursday 7th May OR Friday 15th to Saturday 16th May
• In either case, we should be back for 2pm latest if they don’t get lost……

Key things to remember
Pupils need to bring their own food to cook!
Dried foods are best. Avoid jars, tins and anything that lives in the fridge
They will carry everything they need for 2 days on their backs….
Pot noodles really don’t provide all the calories they need to sustain them!
But pasta and flapjacks on the other hand….
