To all in the land of Spitler’s Reading:
The King has royally declared thy duty to find out everything thou canst about one noble theme found in thy novel Freak the Mighty. You must have stout hearts and a firm resolves to seek out all that is known on thy topic.
Magnificently complete the challenging Tasks of the Quest, and The Golden “A” could be thine!
Introduction
You will find yourself facing 5 total activities to expand your knowledge of a particular theme , Bullying, in Freak the Mighty . See rubric attached that will be used to evaluate each paragraph written.
Final task- the great presentation of knowledge. You will be responsible for educating your fellow classmates on the main facts and details of your theme and how it connects to the novel. See rubric attached to know how your presentation will be evaluated.
You will need to build upon each activity as you move through.

paragraph about what bullying is, why kids bully others, and signs that you may be a bully or be a victim of bullying. (This should be at least 200 words and sources are cited. See Assessment Page)

their whole lives, but not everybody is good at handling bullies. Differentiate the consequences of bullying for the bully in one paragraph and the consequences of bullying on the victim in a second paragraph.

Bullying is a major issue that dealt with by the main characters in this novel. In a well-supported paragraph, determine your definition of what bullying is. Also, discover four examples of bullying from the novel and include at least four ways that Max and Kevin dealt with bullying.
Post your paragraph on Activity 3 Discussion on Schoology.
Comment on at least 2 other classmate’s posts that is at least 100 characters in length.

Now that you have researched bullying, pretend that you are a Guidance Counselor and breakdown what a student can do if he/she is bullied or witness bullying.
Include and order the top 10 things you think a student can do to stop bullying at our school.
Take at least 5 pictures with our class digital camera that demonstrates the different types of bullying and/or how to deal with bullying. Include a caption explaining your photograph. Include this all in your document. Make sure you fill out a form to check out the camera from the
classroom!

supporting details, specific examples from story if needed, and well developed thought.

well each presenter speaks and acts during the presentation.
Rubric for Group Member ParticipationYou will be evaluating your own efforts
throughout the project as well as giving your group mates a score on their efforts. You will need to explain why grade was given. Your grade will be the average.
