TITLE: Jesus Changes Everything

TEXT: John 1:14-18

THEME: If Jesus had never been born, we would not know God, and we would have no victory over sin, evil, and death.

What if Jesus had never been born?

John 1:1-14

“14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 (John testified concerning him. He cried out, saying, “This is the one I spoke about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’”)

I. There would be no "God with us."

What is Jesus had never been born?

Jesus said

"No one knows the Son except the Father. No one knows the Father except the Son. No one knows the Son except the Father reveals him to him."

• So how do we know God? We know God because of Jesus.

If Jesus had not come on Christmas, we would have no knowledge of what God is like. We would not understand how Jesus could identify with us and how we could relate to him.

II. There would be no victory.

If we had it to do over again, we'd come to Jesus because of his

love. At Christmas, love came down-love that was going to bear

the terrible price for our sins.
