Title I
Title I is a federally funded program under
the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
Supports school districts and schools to
ensure that all children have an
opportunity to obtain a high quality
education and to achieve proficiencies
on high academic standards.
Title I Schools
Children do better in schools and feel
better about themselves.
Teachers understand the needs and
concerns of students and parents.
Parents understand their child and
become more involved in their child’s
education.
Schoolwide Title I Program
A school must have greater than 45% poverty
rate.
Title I funds are used to serve all students
through class size reduction, remedial
computer lab teacher, additional remedial
teachers, etc.
Remedial teachers assist students most at-risk
as identified by Georgia Milestones results,
easy CBM and/or i-Ready benchmarking
data, and teacher created unit tests.
Title I funds
This year, we received funds that will be used for:
Hiring 5 teachers to reduce class size
Hiring a Problem-Based Learning Lab teacher to serve all students, grades K through 5
Hiring a Parent Involvement Facilitator
SIP/Title I Schoolwide Plan
Development of SIP/SWP
Needs Assessment Student Data
School Goals
Reading – Increase student achievement in Reading by increasing the average percent of students reading on or above grade level in grades 3, 4, and 5 on the GA Milestones by 2% each year for the next 3 years (from 66% to 72%) beginning 2015-16 SY.
Math – Increase student achievement in Math by increasing the average percent of students in grades 3, 4, and 5 scoring in levels III or IV (combined) on the GA Milestones by 3% each year for the next 3 years (from 32% to 41%) beginning 2015-16 SY.

Individualized, small group, and/or push-in model of learning through AIM, EIP, ESOL & Special Education
“In-School Tutoring” for qualifying students via the Instructional Extension Program.

(STEAM) learning program that integrates
across the curriculum.

Engagement Plan
The Parent and Family Engagement Plan is a plan to describe how Oak Grove ES-FAA will provide opportunities to improve parent and family engagement in order to support student learning.
Our Parent and Family Engagement Program is designed to build the capacity for strong parental involvement and to support a partnership among the school, parents, and community.
Parents’ Right to Know
Parents have the right to request teacher
qualifications.
Parents must be notified if child has been
taught by a non-high qualified teacher for
more than four weeks.
