Markets of DelightLes marchés, street markets, are abig part of life in Aix. Locals arrivedaily to purchase produce fromfarmers, mingle with neighborsand catch up on gossip. The markets generally open at 8 a.m.and close in the early afternoon.Aix’s specialty markets are openon Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Place des Prêcheurs and Place de la Madeleine haveterrific food markets, where you’llfind fruit and vegetables, herbs,cheese, olives and cured meats.Sunflowers, roses and potted olivetrees fill the flower market at Placede l’Hôtel de Ville.
