Parent/GuardianInvolvementPolicyThisparentinvolvementpolicywasdevelopedincooperationbytheadministrativeteamatTitleIschools,parentsofparticipatingstudentsandtheschooldistrict.Itwillbemadeavailabletoallparents/guardiansofparticipatingstudents.DistrictRequirements:
AnnuallyTitleIProgramstaffwillinvolveparentsinthedevelopmentoftheTitleIPlanandTitleIProgramEvaluationthroughfeedbackfromsurveysandinterpersonalcommunication.
TheTitleIstaffwill
continuetosolicittheirinvolvementinschoolimprovementefforts.
Theschooldistrictandadministrationteamwillbuildschoolandparentcapacityforstrongparentalinvolvement.
Theteamwillalsoprovidetechnicalandadvisoryassistanceindevelopmentand
implementationoftheplanandeffectiveparentinvolvementactivities.
TheschooldistrictstaffwillcoordinateandintegrateTitleIparentalinvolvementstrategieswithotherprograms.
TitleISchoolRequirements:
TheTitleISchoolwillholdanannualmeetinginatimelymannertoinformparticipatingfamiliesabout
theprogram,parentalrightsandresponsibilities,andopportunitiesforpartnershipbetweentheschool
andthehomeinbuildingthestudentsacademicskills.Attheinitialmeetingthestaffwill
ensurethatallparentsreceivetheparentsrighttoknowdocument,regardingteacher
qualifications;
provide
information
about
the
assessments
used
in
determining
eligibility
and
the
nature
and
contentofspecificprogramsthatwillbeusedtosupplementclassroominstruction;
providewritteninformationabouttheresultsoftheirparticularstudentsassessmentandthe
contentoftheprograminwhichtheirchildwillbeparticipatingwithinoneweekofthestart
datefortheirchildsinstruction;and
followupwithphonecallstoclarifyanyinformationneeded.
Parentswillbeinformedofmeetingsinwritingandifpossible,invitedpersonallyviaphonecall.
Ifthereisaneedexpressedforchildcareortransportation,theTitleIprogramwillmakearrangementsforstudents
(whenappropriate)andsiblingstobecaredforonsiteduringthemeetingsfreeofchargetotheparents.
Ifneeded,transportationwillbemadeavailabletoparentswishingtoattend.
Additionalmeetingsmaybescheduledduringtheyeartoprovideanopportunityforparentstoaskquestionsandgaininformationaboutacademicdevelopmentandstrategiestohelptheirstudents
succeed.Meetingswillbegearedtowardmeetingtheexpressedneedsoftheparentswithregardtotheir
studentsacademicdevelopmentandskills.
Parentfeedbackwillbegatheredtoassesstheprogramseffectivenessandtohelpinformfuturedecisionsaboutitsscopeandcontent.
