TCDF Chair Eric Daniel reported that “CFI was the unanimous choice for 2020 because of their major investment in 2020. The company produces some of the largest and most unique metal fabricaons in the USA and we are proud to have the company in Tishomingo County.” Contract Fabricators, Inc., located in Tishomingo County in 2011 and has significantly exceeded its job creaon and private investment commit- ments. 2020 INDUSTRY OF THE YEAR. The Tishomingo County Development Foundation Board of Direc-tors selected Contract Fabricators, Inc., for the 2020 Tishomingo County Industry of the Year Award. TCDF Chair Eric Daniel reported that “CFI was the unanimous choice for 2020 because of their major investment in 2020. 2020 VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR. The Tishomingo County Development Foundation Board of Directors has selected Kenny Carson for the 2020 Tishomingo County Volunteer of the Year Award. TCDF Chair Eric Daniel reported that “Kenny Carson was the unanimous choice for 2020 because of his significant efforts to improve the lives of our citizens and to improve the appearance of the community.”

Kenny Carson serves on the board of aldermen and as vice Mayor for Iuka, the board of directors of the Tishomingo County Community Coalition, president of the Iuka De-velopment and Economic Association (IDEA), and a mem-ber of the Tishomingo County Development Foundation. Kenny organizes and plans community beautification and litter pickup campaigns.

Kenny Carson stated “I am honored and blessed to be cho-sen as Volunteer of the Year by TCDF. I enjoy being in-volved and working to make our city and county a better place to live and work. I encourage people to get plugged in and help where you can. Volunteers are always needed and appreciated.”

2020 BOB YARBER LEADERSHIP AWARD. The Tishomingo County Development Foundation Board of Directors has selected James Tennyson for the 2020 Bob Yarber Leader-ship Award. TCDF Chair Eric Daniel reported that “James Tennyson was the unanimous choice for 2020 because of his life-time of service to the Town of Tishomingo and Tishom-ingo County.”

James Tennyson serves as mayor of Tishomingo and is the Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Iuka hospi-tal. James also serves on the Board of Directors of the Tishomingo County Development Foundation.

James is the owner of Fairless Hardware. Fairless Hard-ware started in 1916 and is one of the oldest businesses in Tishomingo County. Fairless Hardware is located at 1301 Main Street in Tishomingo. The telephone number is 662-438-6608.

REYNOLDS AUTO REPAIR. On November 6, 2020, local officials, friends, and family gathered to cut the ribbon for the new facility of Reynolds Auto Repair.

Owner Tim Reynolds reported that “our business had grown so much that we had to build a new facility in order to serve the needs of our friends and neighbors. We fo-cus on quality work at a fair price and have been blessed with the growth of our business.”

MOM & ME STUDIO. A ribbon cutting was held on No-vember 27, 2020, for Mom and Me Studio.

Owner Kristi Lovelace reported that “We’re proud to of-fer the highest quality, most unique merchandise on the market today. We put lots of love and careful attention in each item. In our studio, we want to showcase local talent. We offer a wide variety of handmade items. We hope you enjoy our work as much as we enjoy bringing it to you. SNAP MART/76. A ribbon cutting was held on December 4, 2020, for Snap Mart/76.

Dees Oil Company, Inc., of Ripley, Mississippi, has opened new 76 facilities in Burnsville, Ripley, New Albany, and Starkville. Another eight locations in Mississippi and Ten-nessee are planned.

Founded in 1932 as Union 76, the brand is owned by Phil-lips 66 with locations coast to coast. 76 is known for as a top tier fuel since 76 gasoline has three times the deter-gent required by the Environmental Protection Agency.

Mayor David Nixon reported that “Snap Mart/76 will do well in Burnsville and more businesses and industries are expected soon. Burnsville is open for business. Check us out and find out why our area is so attractive to new busi-ness and industry.”

B & G EQUIPMENT. Local officials, friends, and family gathered to cut the ribbon for B&G Equipment on November 9, 2020.

ROLL FORM GROUP. Governor Tate Reeves, Representative Bubba Carpenter, and Senator Daniel Sparks joined Samuel Roll Form Group officials for the grand opening of its newly expanded manufacturing facility in Tishomingo County, Mississippi. The 68,000 square foot expansion began in February 2020 and was made possible with the support of the Mississippi Development Authority and Tishomingo County. Thirty new highly skilled, full-time positions are expected to be added to the community because of this expansion. In total the facility is now more than 300,000 square feet.

“We are excited about the expansion of our facility and the jobs it will create for families in the Iuka and Tishomingo area,” says Mark Autio, Vice President & General Manager, Samuel Roll Form Group. “This expansion will allow us to better serve customers in the railcar and heavy construction industries, while giving us the capabilities, new equipment and added capacity required to pursue business opportunities in new market segments as well.”
