The home stretch of 2017! We are now on the cusp of returning for Term 4 with end of the year well and truly in sight! For others it is the return of early morning sunlight to start the day, or warmer weather to look forward to, either way we are almost at the end of 2017.. The year has gone on at a hectic pace and we are enjoying catching up with clients and hearing about their 2018 plans. For some the planning is to first complete the final reports, before undertaking the list of jobs to be completed around home. Our first article identifies six traits of Australians living the dream, or more importantly their dream. Our role is to help you get where you want to be with less financial stress and have more quality time with family. Can you identify with these six traits as part of your lifestyle, to have choice? Regret is one of those words we would prefer to live without, and the best way to counteract, is to plan early and learn from other’s experiences. The challenges we all encounter and in our daily discussions with clients include, being realistic of how we want to live our lives and ensure we have the necessary means to do so. The alternative is having to make some hard, unwanted decisions or amend your plans accordingly. This article identifies the common money mistakes people make in their 50s and 60s and suggestions to counter and avoid this eventuating. The last article is from Paul Clitheroe and breaks down how 74% of Australians most value, paying off the mortgage as a financial milestone. As individuals we all have different perspectives on retiring comfortably but having reasonable goals are important. In his article Paul breaks down how it is important to prioritise goals and have a roadmap for action developed towards working through your bucket list.
