President’s MessageIt is a pleasure and privilege to welcome you to the Timpanogos Hunting Spaniel Club trial. Weknow we are a bit off the beaten path, but we hope we accommodate you well and you have agreat time as our guests. We know it is quite an effort to join us here at near the base of MountTimpanogos.
Some have asked about our name and other questions about or club, I will attempt to answer:
Why Timpanogos? In the Utah Valley Area Mount Timpanogos can be seen from about every-where and is a landmark for the area.
Mount Timpanogos, sometimes informally referred to as Timp, is the second highestmountain in Utah’s Wasatch Range. Timpanogos rises to an elevation of 11,749 feet(3,582 m) above sea level in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. With 5,269feet of topographic prominence, Timpanogos is the 47th-most prominent mountain inthe contiguous United States.
The word Timpanogos comes from the Timpanogots tribe who lived in the surround-ing valleys from AD 1400. The name translates as rock (tumpi-), and water mouth orcanyon.
