Take Away
Coal is abundant and while the use of coal will peak, then drop, coal-fired power plants will remain a large player in the near future.
New plants will be built utilizing Ultra-Supercritical and Advanced Ultra-Supercritical technology potentially with carbon capture
New coal fired plant construction has shifted from developed to developing areas
Traditional risks have not disappeared
Market forces and technology to address these market requirements have created new risks
