Youth News Elections - May 1, 12:30 pm It is that time of the year again! Time to elect the next BuckUSY Executive Board. If you are considering running, please e-mail [email protected] for an application form and to set up a time to talk about the requirements and obligations that you must fulfill as a board member. Forms must be submitted by April 21. Elections will be held on May 1st, directly following Religious School at 12:30. Lunch will be served. Please remember that Executive Board is a great responsibility with serious time commitments. Creativity and passion are greatly encouraged and looked for, but dedication is key. Senior Farewell and Board Installations - May 18, 7:00 pm Our final goodbye of the year will take place on Wednesday, May 18th 7 p.m. We will install the 2016-2017 board, as well as honor our seniors who have spent so much time with us over the years. Cost: $15 per person or $10 per child 10 & under. Please RSVP to Morgan Levin by May 9th at [email protected]. **If you are a senior and you will be attending, please respond with what you will be doing after graduation** Team Columbus Junior Maccabi Delegation - June 24, 7:00 pm Participate in the Opening Ceremonies at the Convention Center. The Jr. Maccabi team members will be the official sign carriers for all the visiting teams that will be coming to Columbus and escort them in for the Opening Ceremonies. Participate in the Jr. Maccabi Night, Wed 7/27, 6:00 pm. The evening includes team competitions in soccer, capture the flag, dodgeball, color run, and dinner and ice cream social! Receive admission to all the sporting events throughout the week for the child and their family. Receive a Jr. Maccabi T-shirt & Trading Pin Ages: 8-11 yrs. as of July 31, 2016. Volunteer at JCC Cares on Wednesday, July 27 for two hour slots. JCC Cares is a volunteer project day for the athletes. Adult volunteers are needed for the teen programs at the JCC benefiting local organizations including Harmony Project, Special Olympics, Wexner Heritage Village, Camp Arye, Nationwide Children's Hospital and more.     Annual Giving CampaignOur Annual Giving Campaign is growing quickly! Thanks to three very generous $25,000 gifts, the congregation has been challenged to meet or beat that amount by raising at least another $75,000. We are so close to our goal: to date, including the challenge funds, the campaign has raised $133,400 – and more contributions are coming in every day. Every contribution is important, no matter what size – and every congregant is encouraged to join in this very important campaign as we invest in the future of Tifereth Israel. Chichester Psalms at First Congregational - May 1, 4:00 pmFollowing their monthly evensong presentation, which begins at 4:00 pm, the First Congregational Church Choir will perform Leonard Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms with harp, percussion, and organ. Cantor Chomsky says that Bernstein’s setting of these psalms in Hebrew is one of his greatest compositions and a real jewel of Jewish art music. The performance begins at 4:45 p.m. and will take about 45 minutes.
