BIOGRAPHIES

Celebrating the landmark new retail quarter at King’s Cross and its female team, this evening event will hear from Argent’s Anna Strongman and Heatherwick Studio’s Tamsin Green as they discuss the innovative project in depth.

Continuing the successful integration of historic and contemporary elements exemplified in past years at King’s Cross Central, the sculptural design of Coal Drops Yard restores two industrial buildings to house restaurants, bars and over 50 shops, together with cultural activities. How did the project evolve from coal shed to retail destination? As part of this event, earlier today a careers advice and networking session was held for 16-18-year-old female students who are interested in careers in architecture and engineering. This event provided a chance for the students to meet professionals for an inspiring insight into progressing in the industry as a woman. Students met and heard from the project team behind Coal Drops Yard, learnt about the project, heard career stories and took part in speed networking activities.
