BIOGRAPHY

Where we’ve been tells you a lot about where we are today. And where we’ll be tomorrow.

1946 — Leon R. Slikkers begins his boat-building career in Holland, Michigan, USA, at the Chris-Craft Boat Company. In the early 1950’s starts building 14-foot wooden runabouts in the family garage after work.

1955 — Leon launches the Slickcraft Boat Company ... Begins experimental work in fiberglass hull construction.

1961 — All Slickcraft models are offered in fiberglass, wood models discontinued.

1964 — Slickcraft SS235 introduced, forerunner of deep V hull bottoms and trailerable cuddy cabin boats.

1969 — Slickcraft Boat Company sold to AMF, Leon remains President until 1973.

1997 — Leon inducted into the Michigan Boating Hall of Fame — TIARA YACHTS 2900 CORONET™ DAYBOAT INTRODUCED.

1999 — Leon inducted into the National Marine Industry Hall of Fame.

2001 — Leon becomes Chairman of the Board, S2 Yachts, Inc., David, C.E.O., and Bob, President, Tiara Yachts.

2003 — Tiara Express Series rebadged asthe TIARA YACHTS SOVRAN™ SERIES.

2005 — TIARA YACHTS CONVERTIBLE SERIES INTRODUCED (3900 Convertible).

2006 — Leon celebrates 60 years of boat building — Holland facility expanded, to over 800,000 square feet.

2007 — 5800 SOVRAN™ LAUNCH.

2008 — 3900 OPEN LAUNCH.

2009 — 4800 CONVERTIBLE LAUNCH.


2011 — 4500 SOVRAN™ LAUNCH.


1974 — S2 YACHTS, INC. founded by Leon, designing and building sailboats.

1976 — S2 Yachts, Inc. introduces the TIARA POWERBOAT DIVISION, and the following year, PURSUIT FISHING BOATS.

1979 — Plant capacity doubles (the original facility was 72,000 square feet). TIARA YACHTS OPEN SERIES INTRODUCED.

1983 — Pursuit Fishing Boats builds 75,000 square foot facility in Ft. Pierce, Florida (with 60,000 square foot expansion in 1996, and a 7,000 sq. ft. addition in 2000).

1984 — Leon named Chief Executive Officer, S2 Yachts, Inc., David A. Slikkers, President, Tiara Yachts, Robert L. Slikkers, Senior Vice President. A 200,000 square foot manufacturing building is added to the S2/Tiara Yachts Holland campus.

1987 — S2 Yachts sailboat production ends. S2 Yachts, Inc. remains the parent company of Tiara Yachts and Pursuit Boats.

1988 — Tiara offices expanded, enlarging the engineering area and entrance/lobby.

1993 — TIARA EXPRESS SERIES LAUNCHED.

1996 — Leon named Michigan Entrepreneur of the Year in the Manufacturing Category.

Of all the production boat manufacturers in the world, TIARA YACHTS remains one of the few that is family-owned and managed. Our ongoing commitment to successful and sustainable growth began many years ago, when our founder, Leon R. Slikkers, first established the corporate and boat-building philosophy and values that we are determined to continue: CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES ... COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE ... STEWARDSHIP.

Today, three generations of Slikkers are dedicated to continuing the growth of Tiara Yachts. Now, as in the beginning, the goal of the Family and the Company remains the same. The 5800 SOVRAN™ — Powered by triple Volvo Penta® Inboard Performance System (IPS) 600/435 H.P. diesels with Joystick Control, the 5800 Sovran™ is a stylish deepwater cruiser.

AFT DECK — The aft deck features a molded-in wrap-around lounge, a high-gloss teak table with hi-lo actuator, a starboard wet bar with sink and storage, a matching portside storage unit, tempered glass aft deck entry door with molded-in steps to the swim platform, and day hatch to the engine room.

TRANSOM — The transom area has a storage compartment with fiberglass liner and a gas-actuated door, and an integrated 60” swim platform with swim ladder. A tender management system and/or structural prep for passerelle are available.

HARDTOP — The standard hardtop includes a composite windshield frame with tempered safety glass, a retractable 6’ carbon fiber sun roof, and electronics arch. An optional electronics/antenna mast for the arch is also available.

ENGINE ROOM — The engine room is large and open for easy service and maintenance, and all-white and well-lit.

FOREDECK — The foredeck features a standard integrated fiberglass bow pulpit and flush forward anchor locker (with overboard drain) with concealed automatic rope/chain anchor windlass system, foredeck foot pedal, and remote switch at the helm.

The 5800 Sovran™ features a Tri-Level Interior — The Upper Level includes the helm station and main salon, the sky galley is Mid-Level, and the Lower Level includes a salon/dinette, master and VIP staterooms, and master and VIP/day heads.

The HELM STATION offers full engine instrumentation, Tiara Command Station touch-screen display, and Volvo Penta® controls, with IPS joystick. Side-by-side adjustable captain chairs, and electric opening captain’s window.

UPPER LEVEL SALON — The salon is a free-flowing living, socializing, entertaining room, distinguished by abundant natural light. Seating is ample, with a large L-sofa/lounge and twin club chairs. Between the salon and helm station is a Sharp® Aquos® 32” flat screen LCD TV, with hi-lo actuator, and Denon® AM/FM stereo system with DVD player and iPod® docking station. To port of the helm is a drawer-style refrigerator/freezer and storage. Teak hardwood floor is standard — Optional teak and holly also available.

The MID-LEVEL sky galley is conveniently located between the two gathering places — the UPPER LEVEL main salon, and the LOWER LEVEL dinette/salon.

GALLEY — The large portside sky galley features quartz countertops, three-burner electric cooktop with tile backsplash, microwave/convection oven, stainless steel undermount sinks, and Sub-Zero® refrigerator/freezer drawers.

The LOWER LEVEL salon/dinette provides a semi-private dining area, close to the galley for convenience, and completely separate from the adjoining sleep/head areas.

DINETTE / LOWER SALON — A three-step teak stairway leads down to the comfortable U-shaped dinette/lounge that seats four, and the high-gloss teak table converts to a sleeper if needed, with a short pedestal. The dinette/lounge has designated dish storage and upper cabinet storage.

An optional Sharp® Aquos® 26” flat screen LCD TV is available for the facing drawer cabinet. From the lower salon, full frame entry doors provide private access to the master foyer/stateroom, VIP stateroom, and VIP/day head.

If desired, an optional 3rd stateroom can be substituted for the standard lower dinette/lounge.

Below counter storage cabinets and drawers, dish lockers, and a large cellar pantry (with lift entry under the galley floor) complete. An optional dishwasher and optional garbage disposal are also available. Overhead, the windshield and side window provide lots of natural light and spaciousness.

The new Tiara Yachts 4500 Sovran™ — Powered by twin Volvo Penta® IPS 600/435 H.P., with Joystick Control, the 4500 offers innovative cruising and mechanical features. The standard composite hardtop includes a large sliding sunroof, and the integrated windshield has been configured to provide maximum airflow and optimum visibility/sightlines.

UPPER COCKPIT — The upper cockpit features an extra-large Tiara Tilt-Away™ helm, and a double-wide helm seat. Aft of the helm seat is a large standard wet bar with sink and refrigerator. Optional icemaker available. Adjacent to the helm is the sliding acrylic companionway door, and portside navigation center/chart flat, which houses an optional pop-up flat screen TV. The curved companion lounge offers a standard fiberglass table (a teak dining- style table is also available). Beneath the lounge seat is a portlight with privacy cover for the aft stateroom below (also serves as a safety egress hatch).

LOWER COCKPIT — The lower cockpit provides comfort and functionality, and features large facing lounges, a portside jump seat and an 8 square foot removable fiberglass table (optional teak table available - tables convert to sun pad).

TRANSOM — The transom area has anover-sized integrated swim platform with stainless swim ladder, and a large transom storage trunk — An optional trunk fold-out seat and optional transom barbeque grill are also available.

The interior of the 4500 Sovran™ features a roomy salon and galley, large forward master stateroom with private master head, and aft guest stateroom, with guest/day head. Skylights bring in sun/natural light, and a “whisper wall” headliner system provides more quiet rest/relaxation below.

SALON — The large salon has an L-shaped lounge/dinette, removable table (convertible to an extra berth), and entertainment center in the galley half-wall with a Sharp® Aquos® 26” flat screen LCD TV, and AM/FM/CD/DVD stereo. Storage cabinets aft, adaptable to an optional washer and dryer.

GALLEY — The galley features Corian® countertops, two stainless undermount sinks (with Corian® covers), recessed two-burner electric cooktop (Corian® cover), microwave/convection oven, Isotherm® refrigerator/freezer, and storage cabinets.

MASTER STATEROOM — The master stateroom has entry to the private master head, and features a pedestal berth with innerspring mattress, overhead storage cabinets, hanging locker, and Sharp® Aquos® 19” flat screen LCD TV and DVD.

The interior of the 3900 Sovran™ has a large open floor plan, offering a salon “family room” that features a lounge/dinette combination, complete galley, and aft sunken theater/entertainment center.

LOUNGE/DINETTE — The portside lounge/dinette area includes a sofa, teak and birdseye maple inlay high-gloss table, upper hullside storage cabinets, hanging locker and

Bose® 3-2-1 media/entertainment system with DVD/CD player and video game/iPod®/MP3 port (integrates with flat screen LCD TV in theater room).

THEATER ROOM — The sunken theater room features facing lounges that extend the length of the entertainment area ... The lounges convert to a berth with electrically actuated filler cushion. Sharp® Aquos® 26” flat screen LCD TV, privacy curtain.

GALLEY — The galley has Corian® countertops, stainless under-mount sink, recessed two-burner ceramic cooktop, microwave oven, NovaKool® refrigerator/freezer, and upper/lower cabinets.

The 3500 Sovran™ LE features a generous selection of standard equipment, including: Volvo Penta® IPS 400/300 H.P. twin diesels (with Joystick Control); Raymarine® electronics; special platinum accent color package; helm air conditioning; teak and holly cabin sole; interior air conditioning; LCD TV and 12V DVD player; and more. The upper cockpit has seating for four, and the lower cockpit seats six.

SALON — The salon has a portside lounge/dinette (converts to an upper/lower pullman), starboard galley, and aft lounge/entertainment area. The entertainment area includes facing lounges (convertible to berth), privacy curtain, and 26” flat screen LCD TV, Clarion® AM/FM/CD stereo and iPod® interface.

GALLEY — The galley has a Corian® countertop, stainless sink, upper/lower cabinet storage, cooktop, microwave and NovaKool® refrigerator/freezer.

STATEROOM — The forward stateroom has a queen pedestal berth, innerspring mattress, overhead storage, hanging lockers, and Sharp® Aquos® 19” flat screen LCD TV and DVD player. The TV is mounted on an articulating swivel for either stateroom or salon viewing. Full privacy curtain.

HEAD — The portside aft head features a separate shower, Corian® vanity with stainless sink, medicine cabinet and lower storage, and linen cabinet. The shower has a glass door and Vacuflush® toilet with cover, for seat.

The Flagship of the Tiara Open Series, the4300 Open reflects its immediate predecessors and also represents future models in the Open Series.

With outstanding standard features/optional equipment choices, the 4300 Open is fish or cruise ready, or both. A serious deepwater performer, the 4300 gives a secure platform to aggressively manage sea/weather conditions, with a hull design and power package that provides optimum performance, handling and maneuverability, and fuel efficiency.

UPPER COCKPIT — The 98 square foot upper cockpit features an oversized Stidd® electrically actuated helm seat, with wet bar immediately aft (wet bar includes sink, drawer storage ((or optional drawer refrigerator)), and aft prep center, storage under (optional tackle drawersor ice maker available). The port curved companion lounge has a forward-facing swivel seat, and aft-facing mezzanine lounge seat (refrigerator/freezer available). Drop-down engine room access hatch. LOWER COCKPIT — The lower cockpit includes two insulated flush floor storage boxes, two large floor hatches split into 4 small hatches, molded-in transom door and gate, and 24” x 24” aluminum backing plate laminated into the cockpit floor. The 4300 Open has a luxurious, roomy interior, with salon/dinette/galley greatroom combo, and two large private staterooms — the forward master stateroom, and the port guest stateroom. Solid teak or optional solid teak and holly hardwood floor throughout.

The salon entertainment center features a Sharp® Aquos® 37” flat screen LCD TV (with iPod®/MP3/game port interface), mounted on a hi-lo actuator for easy concealment, and Bose® audio system with integrated DVD/CD player. Manual (or optional electric) window blinds port, starboard, aft provide privacy as desired.

GALLEY — Opposite the dinette/settee, the midship galley has quartz countertops, tile back-splash, upper/lower cabinets,microwave/convection oven, 3-burner electric cooktop (with sea rails), 2 sets of Sub-Zero® refrigerators and freezers (one with icemaker), and stainless undermount sink. Among the options are dishwasher, garbage disposal, and a galley skylight (extends from galley into the master stateroom).

The lower level of the 4800 Convertible features three large staterooms with carpeted floors (teak or teak and holly floors available as an option).

MASTER STATEROOM — The large and comfortable portside master stateroom has a queen berth with innerspring mattress (storage below), night stands, hullside cabinets, hanging locker, Sharp® Aquos® 19” flat screen LCD TV, DVD player, AM/FM/CD stereo and iPod®/MP3 interface, and a private ensuite master head. FLYBRIDGE — The 3900 command station flybridge features a standard Tournament hardtop, with integrated aft spreader lights, enclosures, five-rod holder rocket launcher, wire raceways for electronics, Imtra® red and white LED lighting, and anchor light. The helm console has full flush mount electonics capability, gauge panel in jewel case and aluminum steering wheel. Seating includes Release Marine® teak captain chairs (with footrests), and a forward bench seat, with cooler under.
