January 2017 Dear Town Center Families, Audrey Vernick, award winning author of several ficJon picture books and chapter books, will be visiJng Town Center School on Thursday, March 16, 2017. Ms. Vernick’s presentaJons are high-‐energy and interacJve. She focuses on where authors find their stories and some surefire places students can look to find stories of their own, similar to what they learn in our WriJng Workshop model. We will test out some of her theories and see if a story shows up at our school if we look in the right places! To make the day more memorable, we have arranged to have several of Ms. Vernick’s books available for purchase. She has agreed to autograph them for the students. If you would like to purchase a book(s) for your child, please complete the aVached order form.
