'Know Your Force' Mela on Jan 19 STATE TIMES NEWS AKHNOOR: To motivate the local youth and school children and have better understanding between people and Forces, Indian Army is organising 'Know Your Force' Mela at Recruitment Rally Ground, Tanda, Akhnoor on January 19, 2019. The aim of the event is to motivate the local youth and school children to know more about the Indian Army and armed forces and to join the forces. The complete array of weapons and equipments from tanks to guns including surveil- lance equipments will be dis- played. A military pipe band and dog show by army dogs will also be held as part of the Mela. It will go a long way in inspiring the local populace, youth in par- ticular to take up the profession of arms and project a positive image of the Indian Army. A total of 192 certificates including 170 old age certifi- cates for pension and other allied beneficial purposes, 10 labour certificates for fitness, three illness certificates, six widow pension certificates, three disability certificates were issue on the spot where- as in the medical camp, the doctors examined and treated more than 132 patients hav- ing different ailments and provided free medicine and Lab. tests. DDC said that the District Rural Road Plan has tremendous bearing on the all round socio-economic development of the dis- trict. The course is being planned to provide job opportunities, knowledge on hardware and software. DDC said that the District Rural Road Plan has tremendousbearing on the all round socio-economic development of the dis-trict. The plan has been prepared after appropriate verificationof Block Rural Roads Plans and scrutinised by the DistrictPlanning Committee. DDC said that Pradhan Mantri GramSadak Yojana (PMGSY) seeks to provide Road connectivitythrough good All-weather roads to all rural habitations. UnderPMGSY, the primary focus will be on providing connectivity tounconnected habitations in the district, he added.
