The Atlas Foundation will be working with The Nicholson Family Memorial Trust to deliver local projects within
Singapore and across Asia. Anita Nicholson and her rugby-mad children Alex and Annabel were killed in the Sri
Lanka bombings on Easter Sunday 2019. Ben, Anita’s husband, who survived the bombings himself, has set up
the memorial fund as a fitting tribute to his wonderful family that were tragically taken from him far too early.
Rugby has been an important and significant part of their family life, driven in particular by Alex and Annabel’s
love of the game. The projects will be chosen based on the types of projects they feel Anita herself would have
wanted to support. One of the first of these is Kampuchea Balopp, a rugby-for-good’ programme in Cambodia.
