2. BIG AND SMALLW H AT Y O U N E E D : Similar large and small items from around your room. You will need four pairs of items. Examples: Big and small toy truck, big and small block, big and small doll, and big and small cup.

W H AT Y O U D O : B E F O R E T H E A C T I V I T Y: Place the items in the activity

area, separate but visible so children can find them.

D U R I N G T H E A C T I V I T Y: Pick up the small item in one of the pairs. Announce what you are holding. Ask the children to find and bring you the similar “big” item. Repeat the activity until the children have identified all of the big items in each pair.

W H AT Y O U S AY: B E F O R E T H E A C T I V I T Y: “We have some really cool items here!” (Point.)

D U R I N G T H E A C T I V I T Y: (Pick up a small item.) “I have a small [item]. (Hold it up.) Can you find the BIG [item] and bring it to me?” (Do activity.)

A F T E R T H E A C T I V I T Y: “Great job! You found all of the BIG items! Today, we’ll hear about how BIG God’s love is for us!”

1. HEARTS[ H E A R F R O M G O D | M E M O RY V E R S E R E V I E W ]W H AT Y O U N E E D : Red butcher paper, pencil, scissors, and wall tape

W H AT Y O U D O : B E F O R E T H E A C T I V I T Y: Draw a large heart and a small heart on the butcher paper and cut each of them out. Tape

the small heart at preschooler level on a wall in the activity area. Tape the large heart at preschooler level on an opposite wall from the small heart.

D U R I N G T H E A C T I V I T Y: Invite the children to run to the small heart then to the large heart. When the children reach the large heart, say the memory verse with them. Repeat several times.

W H AT Y O U S AY: B E F O R E T H E A C T I V I T Y: “God made us, and we are all important to Him. He loves us so BIG that He gave us Jesus.”

D U R I N G T H E A C T I V I T Y: “Run to the small heart (point), then run to the BIG heart (point). When we get to the BIG heart, we can say our memory verse, because God’s love is SO BIG!” (Do activity.)

D U R I N G T H E A C T I V I T Y: Give the children the markers and encourage them to color the pictures in the book.

W H AT Y O U S AY: B E F O R E T H E A C T I V I T Y: “We’re going to make a book about our Bible story today. You can take it home to show your family that God made us and He loves us so much that He gave us Jesus.”

D U R I N G T H E A C T I V I T Y: (Give each child a folded book.) “Use the markers to color the pages in the book. There is a gift, the world, a person, and a heart. The book tells us the story that God made ALL of us (point to the person), and He LOVES (point to heart) us so much that He gave us an amazing GIFT (point). He gave everyone in the WORLD (point) JESUS!”
