• Turn to the book journal section of your spiral notebook.
• Skip or draw a line after your book journal and write Three Skeleton Key
• Then, write the four initial reading symbols with several lines skipped between each symbol.
• While we’re reading the story, I want you to jot down anything from the story that:
? = puzzles or confuses you
! = interests you
+ = gives you a positive reaction
- = gives you a negative reaction
• Don’t forget to include the page number, so you can find exactly what part of the story during our class discussion.
Three Skeleton Key: Part One
• Now that we have finished part one of Three Skeleton Key, it’s time for you to begin a flow map to show the plot line of what has happened so far.
• Remember: making a plot line of any story we read in class is a great way to study for upcoming assessments.
• Turn to the book journal section of your spiral notebook.
• Today we’re going to continue our initial reading activity for the second half of Three Skeleton Key.
• While we’re reading the story, I want you to continue to jot down anything from the story that:
