PERFECT OUTPUT VOLTAGE STABILITY…

DELPHYS MX employs the latest advances in digital controltechnology to guarantee high quality output voltage. The new SVM (Space Vector Modulation) digital control providesUPS performance with fast real-time response for:
• perfect sinewave output voltage (linear load THDV 2%, non-lin-ear load THDV 3%),
• no phase shifting even with 100% unbalanced load,
• fast response time to 100% load step (+/- 2% in less than 5 ms).
Components and power bridges (integrating the latest highperformance IGBTs) have been designed to supply the full powerwithout derating:
• non-linear loads with high crest factor (up to 3),
• loads with power factor lagging and up to 0.9 leading.
When running on the inverter the DELPHYS MX has a very highshort circuit current capacity and therefore provides even greaterdiscrimination with downstream protection: up to 4 In (Ph/N).
FAILURE-TOLERANT ARCHITECTURE…
> With advanced technology
DELPHYS MX integrates internal redundancy that ensurespermanent power supply even during system failure:
• the redundant ventilation system guarantees continual operationin case of a fan failure,
• fault tolerant closed ring loop synchronisation BUS preventsaccidental opening,
• two independent CAN BUS provide a robust and safe communi-cation between parallel units,
• “Cascade failure” protection function eliminates fault propaga-tion downstream of a module in parallel system with centralbypass,
• the internal or external “backfeed” protection function eliminatesany risk of energy feedback upstream of the UPS.
Hardware and software watchdog assures a safe transfer to alternatesource via static bypass in case of failure:
• control board,
• DSP digital processors,
• firmware,
• communication BUS.
DELPHYS MX integrates the latest DSP and “ logic array” tech-nologies, and employs a reduced number of components and SMDelectronic boards (only two control boards).
For more demanding applications the DELPHYS MX offersadditionnal functions such as redundant electronic power supplies,fan failure localisation and the preventive detection of batteryelement failure.
For increased installation reliability the DELPHYS MX canbe provided in parallel systems with various architectures(see pages 6 to 8).

> Security close to your applications
Static Transfer Systems (STS) provide a redundant and « highavailability » power supply close to your mission-critical equipment(up to 99.99999%). Supplied by two totally independent sources(DELPHYS MX or any other), the Socomec Static Transfer Systems(LTMs and IT SWITCH *) assure power supply security by constantlymonitoring each source’s parameters for instantaneous and seam-less load transfer in case of normal source failure.
The distributed redundancyconfiguration comprisesautonomous and fully auto-matic LTMs and IT SWITCH *that protects against:
• normal power supplyfailures,
• power distribution failure(tripping of upstreamprotection),
• disturbances caused byfailure of other equipmentsupplied by the samesource,
• operator error.
The distributed redundancyconfiguration also facilitatesoperation by:
• easy selection of the pri-ority source,
• easy and safe mainte-nance of each sourceand power distributionwithout load down time.
EXTERNAL SYNCHRONISATION

The ACS (Automatic Cross Synchronisation) feature maintains theDELPHYS MX output in synchronisation with an external powersource or other independent UPS when bypass input is absent(running on battery).The ACS feature provides the possibility of synchronous seamlesstransfer of downstream installed Static Transfer Systems* withoutrestriction for high sensitive loads.

INTEGRATION IN LOW VOLTAGE NETWORKS
> Perfect sinewave and “clean” input current
DELPHYS MX elite is guaranteed to be fully compatible with yourlow voltage electrical power network without any oversizing for thesupply infrastructure (source and distribution).The rectifier’s advanced technology ensures that the input currentis “clean” and perfectly sinusoidal, eliminating the disturbancesusually generated by energy converters on the upstream distributionnetwork. Harmonic distortion is also exceptionally low: THDI 4.5%.DELPHYS MX elite does not require any additional input filters andis fully compatible with supply network power factor capacitors,and any risk of resonance is eliminated.
> Fully compatible with gen-sets
The DELPHYS MX elite is also the right solution to run with gen-sets,without the need for oversizing:
• sinusoidal rectifier input current,
• high power factor upstream of rectifier up to 0.93,
• progressive and sequential rectifier walk in for easy gen-set take up,
• delayed battery recharge when running on gen-sets to reducepower consumption.
The absence of an input filter capacitor eliminates any risk ofleading power factor with no risk of disturbing the gen-setgenerator in partial load conditions.

INCREASED BATTERY LIFETIME
> Protecting your battery investment
DELPHYS MX manages battery recharge with the innovative andcost-effective EBS (Expert Battery System) feature that significantlyincreases battery service life.This optimised battery feature:
• provides intelligent management of battery recharge (using anautomatically self-adapting algorithm that responds to batteryenvironmental conditions and battery health),
• eliminates overloading effects due to permanent floating (whichaccelerates the corrosion of the positive plates and causes theseparators to dry out),
• reduces ageing process by eliminating the residual AC ripplevoltage. The battery is not connected to the inverter DC BUS innormal operation.
PERMANENT MONITORING
> Battery availability
The EBS (Expert Battery System) lets you know how much batteryback-up time is remaining. The battery is an important and essentialcomponent of the UPS system’s integrity, and so the EBS featureconstantly tests battery health and the DC circuit.DELPHYS MX also informs the operator about battery ageing bycalculating remaining capacity. Should any anomaly arise, theoperator is immediately alerted so that servicing can be programmed.The test is carried out without degrading the battery back-up time.
EXTENSIVE MONITORING
> For battery anomaly prevention and correction
System integrity and increased battery availability is guaranteedby the optional BHC (Battery Health Check) function that providesextensive battery monitoring. The BHC feature measures and analyses the various parameters toa high level of accuracy: current supplied by each battery string inparallel and the voltage of each battery segment or block*. In case of anomaly the BHC automatically performs corrective meas-ures in conjunction with the EBS system. Loss of capacity is thereforelimited and battery element weakening considerably reduced.Operating integrity is maintained at all times : if the anomaly persistsoperators are alerted in order to implement servicing before thecondition becomes critical. Precise fault detection and isolation means that servicing can bedone with greater efficiency.
