The Three Little Pigs

The Pig's House
What you will need:
l Template of straw /sticks /bricks (Provided)l Template of windows and doors (Provided)l Template of the three little pigs (Provided)l Small boxesl Glue sticksl Scissorsl Sticky tape
Instructions:
1. Pull the top of the box into a ‘V’ shape so that it resembles the shape of a house with a roof.
2. Tape the top of the box to keep it in place.
3. Depending on which house you are making, cut the straw/sticks/bricks into long strips and stick onto the box.
4. Decorate the house with the windows, doors and pigs.
5. Your pig’s house is now complete!

Wolf Puppet Bag
What you will need:
l Wolf template (Provided) l Paper bagl Glue or tapel Scissors
Instructions:
1. Photocopy the wolf template provided.
2. Cut out all the wolf template pieces.
3. Colour in wolf template pieces.
4. Put your hand inside the bag and the bit that sticks out will become the wolf’s nose.
5. Stick all the wolf template piece on to the bag (See picture for guidance.)
6. Your wolf puppet is now complete!

Pom pom pigs
What you will need:
l Scissorsl Pink wooll Googly eyesl Felt
Instructions:
1. Cut two lengths of pink wool, one of 3 metres and a smaller one of 10 centimetres.
2. Using the 3 metre length, place one end in the palm of your hand and wrap the wool loosely around your four finger until you run out of wool.
3. Using the 10 centimetre length of wool, push it between the middle of your four fingers. (You may need to pull the wool up your fingers to create a gap).
4. Tie the two loose ends of wool tightly around the wool on your fingers to create a bundle.

5. Pull the wool off your fingers. On each side of the knot, you should have several loops, cut the loops and trim to form a pom pom.
6. Cut out a circle in felt and glue onto the pom pom. Cut out two small triangles and stick to the top of the circle to create the Pig’s face.
7. Stick googley eyes on the face and draw on a mouth.
8. Your pom pom pig is now complete.

Piggy In The Middle
What you will need:
l At least 3 playersl Pig soft toys or small balls
Instructions:1. Divide the group into groups of 3.
2. Stand the 3 players in a line. The 2 people on the ends are the Pigs, their aim is to JUMP up and use an OVERARM THROW to throw the Pig back and forth without the Wolf (middle person) CATCHING it.
3. If the Wolf catches the toy pig/ball, the person (Pig) who throws it becomes the Wolf.
4. Continue playing untill all the players have had a go at being the Wolf.

Use balloons/beach ball to build up confi dence
• Explore balloons/beach objects to build up confi dence
• Use a balloon to successfully catch in hands
• Start with hands out in ‘ready’ position in front of body,
little fi ngers close together, palms facing each other and
fi ngers pointing slightly to the ground
• Bring ball into body after catching
• Feel the ball before catching it and keep hands in that shape/size ready to catch

3. Reach the arms and hands towards the object
4. Watch the object and adjust hands to catch it
5. Present a large surface area in the 'ready' position (fingers spread and soft, hands in cup formation)

• Encourage the child to imagine the ball is dirty and they

1. Stand sideways in the direction of the throw, with legs shoulder-width apart
2. Hold the ball in the fingertips of preferred throwing hand
3. Use the non-throwing hand to 'spot'/track the target
4. Move the ball downwards and backwards, transferring the weight onto the back foot
5. Step forwards onto the opposite foot to throwing arm
6. The hips and shoulders rotate to face the direction of the throw
7. The opposing arm should move back-wards to assist with hip rotation
8. Pull through shoulder, bend arm with elbow leading, hand lags behind
9. The hand comes through quickly at the last minute to release the ball in the direction of the target and the arm follows through across the body
