A love story is born! was studying in South Africa. Where I had a lot of friends guys and girls. As you know it's okay in our culture for guys and girls to date. However things with those friends didn’t work out. So I moved to another direction and made new friends. My hair dresser was living in the same apartment complex I lived in. She introduced me to another friend who introduced me to my husband. He had a crush on me and I didn't know this! When my friend was secretly in love with him. But he was pretending to be in a good friendship with everyone. On valentine's day he was very upset and jealous. He could not stand the idea of a guy taking me out. He called me at 1:00am asking me to go to dinner the next day. We went out for dinner, and after having the dinner he was like "I likes you!". However, I disagreed and told him maybe being in a friendship is much better. We became really close friends and talked for hours about different things such as culture, Islam, his family, and my life. I soon realized I was falling in love. I didn't know what will happen to our relationship. It was difficult for both of us because we started loving each other so immensely. Everybody was against us. Everyone told us that it will never work out. Initially, he went back to the United Arab Emirates. He was supposed to stay there for one month but he couldn't. He kept calling me and I was ignoring him. Then he came back to South Africa to marry me.

I started learning more about Islam in an Islamic school. At first it was difficult for me, but then I developed interest in the religion. I converted to Islam a month before we got married. My dad disagreed with our decision to get married. However he didn't raise me, and so his opinion didn't matter. I decided it was the right choice for me. The first year I converted to Islam was the toughest. Dressing different, acting different, and how I used to talk to people. But then I noticed I had to change myself and the way I was thinking.

I think Allah bought us together.

Because we were in such different

places. However I never thought I will

marry an Arab, become a Muslim, and

change my life. The language and how to speak as expected were the first difficulties I went through when coming to the United Arab Emirates, as well as communicating with Emirati people. The way I saw the people’s life here was so dramatic to me. But I really liked the way Emirates live. My personality didn't change. I'm still the same person. I think I'm more subdued with who I speak to and the way I acts in public.

Blackberry Frozen Yogurt

Ingredients 3-4 cups blackberries or boysenberries (fresh or frozen) 1 teaspoon lemon zest 1 cup sugar 2 cardamom pods, crushed 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 2 cups whole milk yogurt 2 Tbsp heavy whipping cream 2 Tbsp brandy (optional)

Bring to a simmer, stirring to help break up the berries and

release their juice. Simmer for 10 minutes, then remove

from heat to cool for 15 minutes.

2 Place a sieve over a bowl. Push the berries through the

sieve to capture the concentrated syrup below.

Use the back of a spoon or a rubber spatula to help press

the berries against the side of the sieve. Discard the berries

in the sieve, save the syrup.

3 Stir the yogurt and cream into the berry syrup. Cover with plastic wrap and chill

for several hours.

4 Right before processing in your ice cream maker, add

the brandy if using. Process in your ice cream maker according to the maker's

instructions. Then either eat while still rather soft, or

scoop into a container and freeze for several hours until

firm

THE START I began volunteering 5 years ago. Many years ago I watched my father and older brother volunteer before. I volunteered for poor families to get them food and clothing, usually families who were is really in need. I first volunteered when I was studying in Sheikha Amna’s center about 10 years ago.

₰ POWERFUL INSPIRATION My father inspired me. He was a volunteer in Kuwait and he started to receive money for poor families. He made a box for anybody who wanted to help or donate for poor families, and it helped many families to live a better life.

BEST STIUATION One day when I was coming from the souq, I noticed one old women waiting beside the bus stop. She looked tired and sick. She lived alone with a sick son. I invited her to drop her off to wherever she wanted to go. She needed to go to the hospital so I took her there. When we arrived she thanked me and started hugging me, and it was just a ride. You can do so little, but according to people it is a huge favor.

MY FEELINGS When I volunteer I feel so happy to volunteer and to wish that it will be accepted by Allah.

FAITHFUL I keep it secret because, when you do something charitable it should be between you and Allah, so that you can get more credit for your charitable work. EXAMPLE For example, the wife of Haron al Rasheed is Zobayda she ordered the workers to build a well even if it cost great fortune. This well gained her much fame and still stands today. It is called, Zobayda’’s well. When she died her son dreamt about her in heaven. He asked her, “How did you get in heaven? I’m sure is the well that you have built.” She said that Zobayda’s well could destroyed me, but because I used to pray in the middle of the night.

EMOTIONAL MOMENT One of the families had no food nothing, but because Allah is always there. Every time I go to any house or I get invited they ask me if I know poor family that needs anything. It is like Allah is simplify their situation without them asking the things are coming to them, because really they need and deserve everything.

I have always wanted to become an avid reader. I tried to read a lot of books but never finished any of them, until I bought the book that I have already read twice. What do you need ?

• 3 cups sugar (sucrose)

• 1 cup water

• clean glass jar

• cotton string

• pencil or knife

• food coloring (optional)

• 1/2 tsp to 1 tsp flavoring

oil or extract (optional)

• Lifesaver candy (optional)

• pan

• stove or microwave

How do you make a rocky candy ?

1- Pour the sugar and water into the pan.

2-Heat the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. You want the

sugar solution to hit boiling, but not get hotter or cook too long. If

you overheat the sugar solution you'll make hard candy, which is

nice, but not what we're going for here.

3- Stir the solution until all the sugar has dissolved. The liquid will

be clear or straw-colored, without any sparkly sugar. If you can

get even more sugar to dissolve, that's good, too.

4-If desired, you can add food

coloring and flavoring to the

solution. Mint, cinnamon, or

lemon extract are good

flavorings to try. Squeezing the

juice from a lemon, orange, or

lime is a way to give the

crystals natural flavor, but the

acid and other sugars in the

juice may slow your crystal

formation.

6- While the sugar

solution is cooling,

prepare your string.

You are using cotton

string because it is

rough and non-toxic.

Tie the string to a

pencil, knife, or other

object that can rest

across the top of the

jar. You want the

string to hang into the

jar, but not touch the

sides or bottom.

5- Set the pot of sugar syrup in

the refrigerator to cool. You

want the liquid to be about 50°F

(slightly cooler than room

temperature). Sugar becomes

less soluble as it cools, so

chilling the mixture will make it

so there is less chance of

accidentally dissolving sugar

you are about to coat on your

string.
