Project overview

• Project Name: ThrdPlace Social Networking• Organization Name: Third Place, Inc.• Client: L. DeKoven Ashley, Mike Colosimo• Description: ThrdPlace is purposed to drive

collaboration and engagement among stakeholders to re-develop their shared communities. It aggregates local activity to create global movements based on shared interest.

Requirements

• 1. Developers should extract several features from some popular website, like "search" in the Topsy, "profile" in the LinkedIn, and "influence" in Klout.

• 2. User can search for most successful and influential client and campaigns.

• 3. User can search for clients and campaigns who are active in my community.

• 4. User can search other users, clients and campaigns similar to him/her.

• 5. User can search for profile previews of users and clients associated with their projects in the map interface.

• 6. User can search for clients and campaigns by the capital(funds, supplies and volunteers).

Two highest risk items• 1. Unfamiliarity with those website(Topsy,

LinkedIn, Klout) functions

• 2. User interface mismatch

The client want to extract features from several popular web application, like Topsy, LinkedIn and Klout. However, the client may not sure the combination will satify his need. It is possbile that client finds the final combination is not what he wants. Only when he see it can he know it.

The client mentioned the basic functionalities but not user interface. It is important to give client better understanding of what the final product will look like.

The Two Features

• Profile(LinkedIn): homepage, project page, friend page

• Search(Topsy): Project search, Client search

Requirement 1. Developers should extract several features from some popular website, like "search" in the Topsy, "profile" in the LinkedIn, and "influence" in Klout.

Project search page(List mode)

• For accurate search, user should specify the resulted projects should be similar to which project he/she owns.

• User can also choose the fund, supplies and number of volunteer.

• After results are presented, user can see the information of all the projects he/she want to find.

• For new users, they can user advanced search to find projects with shared interest

Requirement 4: User can search similar users, clients and campaigns.Requirement 6: User can search for clients and campaigns by the capital(funds, supplies and volunteers).

Project search page(map mode)• This page provides user

with map interface for locating the resulted projects on the map.

• User may choose the country, state, city and input the zip code to find the projects within the specific area.

• When clicking on the project on the list at left part, this project will pop up on the map and user can review the profile of project owner.

Requirement 5: User can search for profile previews of users and clients associated with their projects in the map interface.

Client search page(list mode)• This page provides the

interface to user for searching similar clients.

• User can also search for another users living or working within the same community, city or state.

• After the results are presented in the area of tabs bar, user can find which user is most successful or influential( Using top trending social media, like Topsy to determine the influence)

Requirement 2: User can search for most successful and influential client and campaigns.

Client search page(map mode)• This page provides user

with map interface for locating the resulted clients and their projects within specific area on the map.

• User can also choose the country, state , city and input the zip code to find more accurate location in which the clients may be.

• When clicking the client in this list at the left part of tabs Bar box, all corresponding projects will be highlighted.

Requirement 3: User can search for clients and campaigns who are active in my community.

User homepage• In the announcement

section and Friends section, user can received all news about project or other user who get interested in his/her project.

• The Bulletin Board will display the important events happen in ThrdPlace
