    Thorgrim Frostbeard Dwarf Paladin

    Background

Of the noble houses within the great Dwarven city of Orzimmar, Clan Frostbeard is second in

power and wealth only to Clan Ironfist.

I am the first son of the late Thorin Frostbeard, Lord of Clan Frostbeard. By rights, it should

be I who hold the title of Lord Frostbeard, but events have conspired to deny me my birth

right, the story of which I will tell you now:

Fathers death was a long time coming, he had been ill for nigh on two decades. During this

time Father acted as advisor to the new King Balin Ironfist who was a good and benevolent

king. Together they saw trade prosper and put the people of Orzimmar first.

This union did not sit well with some of the other noble houses, or indeed some of the nobles

within my own house, who were used to a more defined class divide. As my fathers death

drew near he arranged for the marriage of my sister Thoria and King Balin. Due to foresightunknown to me or perhaps fearing the plots of court, my sister married the King under a false

identity, claiming to be from a distant branch of the Frostbeards. The truth was only known to

my close family and the King.

It was but a month past the wedding feast when Father succumbed to his prolonged

afflictions and in death went to meet our ancestors.

It was at this time when the plots began to hatch. Edorin, my uncle, claimed to have found a

document in my fathers possession which purported to be a penned by my Grandfather

Thorun Frostbeard. The document was a confession. It revealed that my father was the

bastard son of a whore and that he had secretly taken him in after he was born.

Shame was piled upon my bloodline and, being descended from a bastard, I was disqualified

from any claim to the Lordship of my house.

At the time I wanted to crush Edorins skull for even daring to utter such a lie, but Edorin had

great support among the nobles of the court, so while Edorin was made the new Lord

Frostbeard, I decided to seek out the truth which would restore my name.

After several months of digging and bribery, I managed to track down the whore mentioned

in the confession. The ancient woman revealed that it was in fact Edorin who was her son

    and not my father.

Armed with this revelation, my intent was to march into court and out the truth. Before I could

make my scene, the King summoned me to a private audience where he explained that thetruth would cause a civil war, a war which Balin could not win. Outing the truth would not only

be damaging to the kingdom and its people, but would likely result in the death of the King

    and my sister.

So to save my kingdom, its people and my sister, I to this day I keep the truth and its injustice

burning like a blade in my heart. It was at this time when I swore to almighty Thor that whilst I

carry the unavenged injustice of my family that I would seek to bring vengeance on those

who would do any evil act within my power until a glorious death take me or the stain on my

    familys honour can be removed.

I live in a self-imposed exile from my home with naught but the signet ring of the Lord of the

Frostbeard clan as a trapping of my nobility. With my Oath of Vengeance to guide me I travel

from village to village, showing no mercy to the agents of evil and where possible, making

restitutions to their victims. I do not share the story of my past lightly.

One day I hope to have my vengeance and restore my name. For now I am simply Thorgrim.
