The THOMSON TG580 supports powerul security mechanisms

such as Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA(2)), Wired Equivalent

Privacy (WEP) encryption, which allow users to communicate

and access data with efcient link quality and the highest level

o network security(1).

The THOMSON embedded frewall guarantees users the

ultimate level in network security. Through integration with

Hyper-NAT, the frewall leverages all the ALGs provided in the

Hyper-NAT context to minimize undesired service impact.

The support o Multiple SSIDs in the gateway enables support

or up to 4 independent wireless-access networks. These

additional wireless networks allow other wireless users to

enjoy the high perormance access without compromising the

integrity o the basic network, thus keeping the original networkaccess limited and secure.

|Easy Installation through Outstanding Home Install

Wizard

THOMSONs Home Install Wizard makes setting up a home

wireless network as easy as Ethernet, thereby drastically

reducing helpdesk calls. This unique and robust mechanism

confgures your THOMSONs TG580 ADSL2+ access point and

automatically installs your wireless network clients rom a

single CD.

With WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) your wireless home

network is set up automatically with a high level o encryption

by just pushing a button.

It allows home users who know little o wireless security to

confgure a secure network, without any problems.

|Easy Management

The THOMSON TG580 is designed according to the TR-069

Data Model, through which the device can be confgured

remotely.

|ECO: Low Power State of CoC v3Thomson implemented a set o ECO eatures to reduce even

more the power consumption o its already eco-riendly

products.

With clock scaling and wait-instruct on the BRCM chipset,

power consumption is reduced between 0.4W and 0.7W(1),

meaning an additional reduction o about 6% o the total

power consumption.

For the TG580, Thomson introduced the Wi-Fi Snier concept,

in which the wireless access point is available or connection

but other unctions can be turned o. This eature gives a

reduction o about 6% o the total power consumption.All these eatures make Thomson the frst CPE vendor ready

to sign the CoCv3 or Broadband Equipment.

Customers that want to turn o wireless completely, can do

so via the GUI. Turning o wireless completely gives a power

reduction o more than 12% in some cases(1).

To improve Wi-Fi power efciency, WMM Power Sae can be

handled on a case by case basis.
