  • SIR GEORGE ALAN THOMASBorn at Therapia, Turkey.DOB: June 14, 1881.Passed away: July 23, 1972.A British chess, badminton and tennis player.Twice British Chess Champion.Even-time All-England Badminton champion.Played in the semi-finals of the men's tennis doubles at Wimbledon in 1911.

  • Never married.Admired for his fine sportsmanship.The most successful player ever in the All England Open Badminton Championships with 21 titles between 1906 and 1928.men's singles (4).men's doubles (9).mixed doubles (8).

    Inducted into the World Badminton Hall of Fame as an Inaugural Member.
