Have you had a good week? Did you watch the VE Day 75 th anniversary celebrations on television recently? I saw Churchill’s speech and wartime songs. Here are a couple of pictures of my mum from 1945: one sitting on her mum’s lap at their VE day street party (3 rd from right), and the other one outside the bomb shelter her dad built in their back garden in East London.

Hello again Thistle Class. Have you had a good week?

Did you watch the VE Day 75th anniversary celebrations on

television recently? I saw Churchill’s speech and wartime

songs. Here are a couple of pictures of my mum from 1945:

one sitting on her mum’s lap at their VE day street party (3rd

from right), and the other one outside the bomb shelter her

dad built in their back garden in East London.

Topic: Blood Heart - Science

We’ve learned a lot about the heart, now watch this video to learn about your lungs and keeping them healthy:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/zcr3cdm

What does a healthy meal look like? Learn what we should include in a balanced diet: https://www.nhs.uk/live-

well/eat-well/the-eatwell-guide/

https://www.bhf.org.uk/informationsupport/support/healthy-living/healthy-eating/healthy-eating-toolkit/eatwell-plate

Could you plan a menu for a nutritious ‘happy heart’ meal? Include a starter, main course and dessert. On the

websites below are loads of recipe ideas. Could you actually make any of these meals and email me a photo?

Design a poster to encourage people to adopt a healthy habit to strengthen their heart and/or lungs. It could be a

poster to promote healthy eating, exercise or to discourage people from smoking.

Email me your poster at [email protected] . It would be great to see them!
