This week, we are going to look at how we can create adjectives using a particular suffix...
We will look at how the –ful suffix can be added to nouns or verbs to create adjectives.
-fulwhich simply means ‘full of’.
Most root words remain the same when –ful is added.
boast (noun or verb) + -ful = boastful
If a root word ends in a ‘y’, it usually becomes an ‘i’ when –ful is added.
which means full of boasts and self-importance.
pity (noun or verb) + -ful = pitiful
which means full of sympathy and pity.
We are going to play ‘Ten Strikes and You’re Out!’ – can you and your partner guess the letters within the –ful suffix words before it is too late?
