Keeping It Real: A Reality Check on Generosity

Paul encourages the Corinthians to think seriously about the blessings that God has

given them and to give as generously as God has given to them.

He gives the example of the persecuted Church in Macedonia, in places that Paul

had had to flee from when he first passed through preaching the gospel. They

begged to be allowed to give to the Jerusalem church and then gave beyond their

means.

Why? Because of the overflowing joy of

knowing Christ and being able to share in his

ministry.

A Widening Gap: The Intervention 10

Years On

From Friday 8 June until Sunday 8 July,

the Counihan Gallery in Brunswick is

hosting an exhibition marking the tenth

anniversary of the introduction of “the

Intervention” (the Northern Territory

National Emergency Response), a

military intervention at odds with

international human rights conventions.

The artists in this exhibition give voice

to the indignities of the Intervention

and express their deep concerns

relating to land rights and mining and

the right to protect heritage sites. Entry

is free. Contact Roslyn if you’d like to

attend.
