Everybody was invited but the actual time the ceremony and corresponding feast began was a mystery that hinged on the arrival of the groom. (Not the fashionably late bride as it is today.) Apparently it was a huge game for the groom to try and catch the bridal party un-prepared, kind of like the best man pretending (or not in worst case scenarios) that he has forgotten the ceremonial rings. Obviously this parable is about Jesus coming back. It is about living every day as though it will be the day of his return. Is our house in order? Are our lamps full and shining brightly? We always preach these parables with the intention of snapping ourselves out of our complacency into spiritual diligence. But think of it this way, This is one party you dont want to miss. And it goes for an incredibly long time. Rev Michael Duke

We acknowledge the Mouheneener People, the traditional custodians of this land on which we gather for worship.

This church seeks to be a place of safety and acceptance for all people.

Matthew 25:1-13 I’ve been to many times more weddings than I have appendages to count. That’s right! Always the Minister, never the Bride! Neither have I ever been a bridesmaid! Not even once! According to the boffins, ancient weddings were whole community events that could last for days.
