14th Sunday in Ordinary Time Isaiah 66:10-14
Isaiah provides some feminine characteriscs for God. Pope John Paul I once said of God, “He is our father; even more he is our mother.” Angelus, September 10, 1978. Let’s reflect for a li.le bit on the feminine characteriscs of God. 1. What was your experience of the roles of father and mother in the home where you grew up? What, if any, influence does it have on your thoughts of God? 2. What is your reacon to the statement that God is both a father and a mother to us? 3. Where in your life right now do you find cause for “great rejoicing?”

Dear Friends,
I am excited to welcome Marlene Stammerman to our
Pastoral team. Marlene began her work for our parish as
our Director of Discipleship this past Monday. Next
weekend, she will have an opportunity to introduce her
self to the parish at all the Masses.
With her coming on board we have begun to rework
our job descripons and tles. I’d like to share a li0le bit
about that now but more informaon will be coming in
the next few weeks. All of these changes are being done
to align us more closely with the Divine Renovaon Net
work. I firmly believe that this network will help us
achieve our mission of making and growing disciples.
As Director of Discipleship Marlene will have a couple
of main tasks. She will be our lead minister for Youth and
Young Adult Ministries. In addion to that she will work
closely with Jesse and the Spiritual Life Commi0ee plan
ning spiritual growth opportunies for our parish
(missions and retreats). Marlene will also be tasked with
Adult Faith Formaon programming; marriage enrich
ment programs and she will oversee all Bible Studies.
Finally, Marlene has a degree in counseling and a
cerficate in spiritual direcon and hopes to make her
self available on a limited basis in each of those areas.
As Marlene comes on board there will also be a li0le
shi; in Krisna’s job. She will now be called our Director
of Evangelizaon. She will connue to oversee our
Religious Educaon Program (including Vacaon Bible
School) for our young church as well as RCIA. She will be
adding our new Alpha program which we hope will
become the cornerstone of our commitment to evange
lizaon. Krisna will oversee our confirmaon program
as well as our connect groups (a follow up to Alpha) that
will start someme next year.
Much more informaon about these changes will be
coming in the next few weeks. Again all of this is being
done to serve the mission of our parish of making and
growing disciples.
In Christ,
Fr. Tom
