This Week @ FUMC Altar Flowers The flowers the grace the altar are in honor of Mildred Smith’s 100th birthday. Last Week’s Attendance totaled 479. 8:15 Traditional Service: 139; 10:45 Traditional Service: 187; The ConneXion: 147; and the nursery: 6. Hotel Lot Groundbreaking & Mildred Smith’s 100th Birthday We will have a groundbreaking of the former Howard Johnson Hotel lot TODAY at 1:45 pm. The corner of the lot will be leveled and landscaping will be added to beautify the space and make it more functional for use. Then come across the street to the Christian Life Center to celebrate Mildred Smith’s 100th birthday. The party will be from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. No gifts please. Pancake Love Dinner The staff of FUMC Hot Springs is hosting a Pancake Love Dinner to show our appreciation for our congregation! The dinner is this Tuesday, February 13 at 6:00 pm in the Christian Life Center. Come and enjoy delicious pancakes cooked and served by the staff! Ash Wednesday Services are this Wednesday, February 14 at 12:00 pm in the sanctuary and 6:00 pm in Cupp Hall of the Christian Life Center. The Underground Youth will host a Soup Dinner Fundraiser at 5:00 pm in Cupp Hall. We ask that everyone bring a crockpot of their favorite homemade soup to share. Donations for the dinner will help students attend Veritas in February. Book of Joy Study This study is a five-week book quest to explore what it means to live a joyful life despite life’s struggles and pain by Nobel Peace Prize Laureates His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. The study will be Wednesday, February 14 –March 14 at 4:30 – 5:30 pm in Christian Life Center Room 205. Contact Rev. Teresa Holt at [email protected] for more information. Methodist Men’s Summit Get your tickets for the Methodist Men’s Summit today! The Summit is this Thursday, February 15 at 5:30 pm in Cupp Hall of the Christian Life Center. This year’s keynote speaker is NFL Official Walt Coleman. Dinner will be served. Tickets are $20 and will admit two men. Stephen Ministry Commissioning Service Five people will be commissioned as Stephen Ministers next Sunday, February 18 in all three services. They began their 50 hour training program in September and will now be available to serve as Stephen Ministry care givers. Those to be commissioned include Steve Campbell, Judy Kauffman, Karen Lee, Melinda Shunk, and Teresa Tribble. Blood Drive The first blood drive of 2018 is coming up! Give blood on Sunday, February 25 from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm in the Shelton Room of the Christian Life Center. All donors will receive a free ticket to the Museum of Discovery and a t-shirt!
