BR KIMI’S ORDINATIONIt is a great privilege that Br Kimi has chosen our Parish Church for his Ordination to the Priesthood on Friday 4 August at 7pm.

Br Kimi will be ordained by Cardinal Sir John Ribat, MSC from Papua New Guinea.

Following Br Kimi’s Ordination there will be a formal Supper in the Parish Hall where we will be host to many International and Interstate members of Br Kimi’sfamily, friends, Priests, and members of various Religious Orders.

Everyone is invited to attend the Ordination and SupperAs we have engaged Caterers to supply the Supper, we do ask that you advise Maria of your attendance so that we have an estimation of the number for catering purposes. A donation towards the cost of the Supper would also be appreciated, but not compulsory as we would like as many Parishioners as possible to attend this very special Parish celebration.

RSVP: by 28 JULY to Maria: 9663 1070

RECEIPTS: PLANNED GIVING (ENVELOPE), CWF AND PROJECT COMPASSION DONATIONSReceipts covering donations made to Planned Giving, CWF and Project Compassion for the financial year 1 July 2016 to 30 June 2017 will be available for collection from the church foyer from next weekend.

This year the receipts will show a breakdown of the Planned Giving as follows:-

-         For the period 1 July 2016 to 31 December 2016 there will be 100% tax deduction.

-         For the period 1 January 2017 to 30 June 2017 there will be no tax deduction.

25% TAX DEDUCTIBILITY ARRANGEMENT FOR PLANNED GIVINGTax deductibility of the weekly PLANNED GIVING (ENVELOPE) collection ceased from 1st January 2017 because of Legislative changes.

The Parish has opted into an Archdiocese arrangement, now in place, whereby:

1. From 1st July 2017, the Parish will commence weekly payment of PLANNED GIVING (ENVELOPE) receipts to the Archdiocese Charitable Works Fund Trust (CWFT).

2. In return, the Parish will be able to issue Tax deductibility receipts to PLANNED GIVING Contributors totaling 25% of the PLANNED GIVING contributions received by the Parish. Therefore, to the extent that any PLANNED GIVING Contributors inform the Parish they do not require a tax-deductible receipt, the tax-deductible receipts issued by the Parish will be greater than 25% of a Contributor’s contribution.

3. Subsequently, the Parish will receive a rebate of 100% of the amounts paid into the CWFT through a special distribution from the Catholic Development Fund.
