YOUTH IN THE DEEP After our service this morning we will begin our 6-week session for our Middle and High School Youth. These sessions will be a series of discussions on our faith. We will keep the congregation informed as to how we are proceeding – stay tuned! Sessions will run from 12:30-1:15 pm. A snack will be provided.
BOOK CLUB All are welcome and books for October’s read about Typhoid Mary can be found in the office. The book is Fever by Mary Beth Keane and meeting at Betty Scovil`s home on October 18.

Enjoy a free lunch and learn about a wide range of volunteer opportunities with a variety of local non-profit organizations. RUMMAGE SALE
This year’s rummage sale is happening November 17th in the gym. If you have any items you would like to donate please bring them into the church. The organizers are asking for volunteers to help sort and organize items. No tvs or children’s furniture are needed at this time. Please contact Sadie Hunt with questions.
Synod 2017 - FEEDING THE TWO HUNDRED AND EIGHTY Our church has once again been asked to host the Diocesan Synod on Saturday, November 4th. There are plenty of challenges that come with this honour, not the least of which is to feed lunch to approximately 280 people. We hope to draw on our parishioners for help so if you could volunteer for any of the following jobs we will be able to pull this off with grace and finesse – yet again. Sign-up sheets are at the Charlotte Street Entrance. We already have volunteers to put up tables and chairs. --Contributions of food --Setting tables --Help making Sandwiches --Clean-up crew --Help serving the meal If you have any questions see the Rector or Sel Perry.
FARRALINE PLACE - FUNDRAISER DINNER
Farraline Place is a well-run and comfortable home for seniors owned
and supported by the ACW of the Diocese of Fredericton. The Board of
Farraline will be hosting a Harvest Dinner this coming Saturday,
October 21 at 6pm in the gym here at the Parish Church. Tickets are
on sale at the office for $35 ($20 tax receipt issued) or you may speak to
Linda Lebans. Tables will be set for 8 people so you might like to
gather some friends around you for an enjoyable evening together and
support a good cause at the same time. Doors will be open at 5pm for a
silent auction. Thank you for your support.

An Evening Service
We will be starting an Evening Service tonight October 15th at 5pm in the Chapel.
The service will usually be a Celebration of Holy Communion although a couple of times a year the
choir will be joining us for a service of Evening Prayer

YOUTH GROUP - YOUTH FUN NIGHT Next Sunday Evening, October 22 – 6-8 pm Youth Groups from the Fredericton Area will be gathering here at the Parish Church for a night of games and food and fellowship. All youth in Middle and High School are welcome.

Vestry will be meeting this Tuesday at 7 pm.
500 YEAR CELEBRATION OF PROTESTANT REFORMATION
At 6:30pm this evening, Sunday October 15, at the Fredericton Playhouse there will be a Reformation Festival of Praise. Many local church choirs, instrumentalists, and soloists from all denominations will gather to offer a performance in celebration of God's amazing grace. Free admission.
OUR NEW SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS
We have several new Sunday School Teachers who have stepped forward to work with our younger children during the 10:30 service. Our thanks to Faith Lowthers, Rochelle Young and Jo-ann Mihan and of course Donna Young who has agreed to continue on this year. If we had one more volunteer we could set up a roster where each teacher is scheduled to teach only once a month… and if you need an added incentive – you would have a very nice group of children to work with.

Philippians 4: 1-9
Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this
way, dear friends! I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to be of
the same mind in the Lord. Yes, and I ask you, my true companion, help these women since they have
contended at my side in the cause of the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers, whose
names are in the book of life.
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your
requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds
in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever
is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or
praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in
me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
Gospel
Matthew 22:1-14 Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for
his son. He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come.
“Then he sent some more servants and said, ‘Tell those who
have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.’
“But they paid no attention and went off—one to his field,
another to his business. The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them. The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned
their city.
“Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. So go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.’ So
the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good, and the
wedding hall was filled with guests. “But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a
man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. He asked, ‘How did you get in here without wedding clothes, friend?’ The
man was speechless. “Then the king told the attendants, ‘Tie him hand and foot,
and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
“For many are invited, but few are chosen.”
