None
Additional Materials Needed:
Chocolate
Cup cake cases
Sweets
Details:
Age - Anchors / Juniors
Cost - Low / Medium
Time - 15 Mins
Difficulty - 2/5
How?
This activity will allow
your young people to
come up with their
dream chocolate bar.
First you will need to
melt down some
chocolate so it becomes
liquid. Your young
people can either do this
as part of the activity, or this can be done by a leader
beforehand.
Once the chocolate has been melted, this can then be used by
your young people to create their own inventions of chocolate.
To do this place some of the melted chocolate into a cup cake
case along with some sweets / treats of their choice. Some
suggested treats include:
Let your young people try
out whatever creations
they want to. If you have
enough time & resources
then allow them to make
two or three each.
The chocolate should set
after about 30—40
minutes. To speed this up,
pop the chocolate
creations into the fridge if you have space.

Create A Chocolate Wrapper Having now made your own new chocolate invention, how about
having a go at making the wrapper for your new chocolate creation?
Materials Provided:
Blank Wrapper Template
Additional Materials Needed:
Colouring Pens
Details:
Age - Anchors / Juniors
Cost - None
Time - 10 - 15 Mins
Difficulty - 1/5
How?
Like all good
chocolate bars,
not only does it
have to taste
good, it also has
to look good on
the shelf.
Now your young
people have
created their very own chocolate bar, they can now design the
wrapper and give it a brand name.
To do this, give each young person the template included in this
pack. They can then sit down and create their perfect chocolate
wrapper.
Get them to think about the following:
What is their chocolate bar going to be called?
What will the price be?
Does it have a slogan? (such as ‘have a break, have a kit
kat’ or skittle’s ‘Taste the rainbow’)
What colours will the wrapper be?
Maybe you could have a competition for the best looking
chocolate wrapper?

Chocolate Tasting With so many chocolate bars around, it’s hard to know which is the
best chocolate on the market. Let your young people put some bars to
the test as they decide which bar is the best.
Materials Provided:
Chocolate Tasting Score
Card Template
Additional Materials Needed:
5 Milk Chocolate Bars
Bowls
Pens
Details:
Age - Juniors
Cost - Low
Time - 10 - 15 Mins
Difficulty - 2/5
How?
Let your young
people become
chocolate reviewers
for the evening as
they have to decide
which is the best
chocolate on the
market.
For this activity you will need a selection of 5 chocolate bars. As a
suggestion, you could get
Cadbury Dairy Milk
Galaxy
Green & Blacks
Own brand milk chocolate
Own brand basics milk chocolate
Take the bars out of the wrappers and place them in separate
bowls. The first challenge (taste) should be with their eyes closed,
so they cannot see which chocolate they are eating. Using the
attached table, get them to rank each bar from best (1) to worst
(5).
After this, your young people can then rank the chocolate based
on, serving size, look, price etc. You can use the table in this
pack, or make up your own.
At the end of the activity, your young people should have found
out which is the best chocolate, based on their reviews.

Chocolate Wrapper Hunt A simple game which gets your young people hunting around your
halls to find all of the wrappers before the other team.
Materials Provided:
Chocolate Bar template
Complete set template
Additional Materials Needed:
None
Details:
Age - Anchors / Juniors
Cost - None
Time - 10 minutes
Difficulty - 1/5
How?
Before your evening, you will
need to print off the chocolate
bar templates found in this
pack and cut them up so they
can be hidden in your meeting
place. 4 sets of laminated
chocolate bars are available to
borrow, to save time printing.
Contact joe.harrison@boys-
brigade.org.uk to arrange
using these.
Before your young people
arrive (or during an activity
when they are distracted) hide the pictures around your hall(s).
Use a whole set of pictures for each team which will be playing
the game.
To start the game, give each team a copy of template one,
which shows all the chocolate bars they will need to collect.
Explain that the winning team will be the first team to have
collected one of every chocolate bar on their sheet of paper.
You can either send all the young people out at once to hunt
down the chocolate bars, or set a rule which means only one
team member can be hunting at once. This will depend on how
many people are playing and how big your halls are.
The winners are the first team with a complete set of chocolate
bars.
Things to Consider:
How well you hide the objects will determine the length
of the game. You may wish to make it easy if playing with
Anchors but harder for Juniors.
Feel like treating your young people? You could
use real chocolate bars.

Chocolate Four Corners This very simple game is easy to play and is a great way of getting your
young people running around
Materials Provided:
None
Additional Materials Needed:
Signs for the four corners
Details:
Age - Anchors / Juniors
Cost - None
Time - 10 minutes
Difficulty - 1/5
How?
Before you start the game you will need to make some signs for
your four corners (you could play the game without signs, but
this can be confusing for some young people). The four corners
should have chocolate themed names—maybe names of four
chocolate bars or brands.
To play the game, place the names in the corners of the room
and get your young people to run around the room. After a
short while shout ‘corners’. At this point your young people
need to run to a corner of their choice.
Once they have settled, the leader should call out one of the
corner names. Anyone stood in this corner is out of the game.
Carry on playing the game, until there is only one young person
left who is the winner. When less young people are in the
game, you may want to close a corner or two, to help get the
last few young people out quicker.
Northamptonshire Boys’ Brigade
The Chocolate Game An easy game to play, which is guaranteed to be a hit with your young
people. Great for both small & large group sizes.
Materials Provided:
None
Additional Materials Needed:
Large chocolate bar
Knife / Fork
Hat, gloves, scarf
Dice
Table
Details:
Age - Anchors / Juniors
Cost - None
Time - 10 minutes
Difficulty - 1/5
How?
For this game, you will
need a table and chair in
the middle of the room,
with your young people sat
in a large circle around it.
Leave a couple of meters
between the circle of
young people and the
table in the middle.
When you start the game, have one dice go around the circle for each
young person to roll. If a young person rolls a 6 then they can go to
the table, put on a hat, gloves and scarf and then start eating the
chocolate on the table.
They are not allowed to use their hands however. The person at the
table must use a knife and fork to open the wrapper, cut up the
chocolate and place it in their mouth (it’s meant to be difficult)
Whilst this is happening, the dice should continue to go around the
circle. If another person rolls a 6, then they can come up to the table
and swap places with the person who is trying to eat the chocolate.
Before they can start eating
chocolate, the new person at
the table must have the hat,
scarf and gloves on. The
person at the table can carry
on eating chocolate (using
the knife and fork) until
someone else gets a 6.
Keep playing the game until all the chocolate is gone. You may wish to
change the rules slightly to speed up the game or to make it
easier - depending on your age groups.
Northamptonshire Boys’ Brigade
Box of Chocolates - Game This game is largely based on the popular ‘Port & Starbord’ Game. This
chocolate based version is a great way of combining a familiar game
with your chocolate theme.
Materials Provided:
None
Additional Materials Needed:
None
Details:
Age - Anchors / Juniors
Cost - Low
Time - 10 mins
Difficulty - 2/5
How?
For this game, a leader will shout out the names of chocolates
and your young people will need to respond by doing the
action associated with that chocolate. The actions are:
Mars - All players run to the right hand side of the room
Galaxy - All players run to the left hand side of the room
Milkyway - All players run to the top of the room
Magic Stars - All players run to the bottom of the room
Penguin - Waddle around the room like a penguin
Lion - Hands up as claws, roaring like a lion
Aero - Run around the room flying like an aeroplane
Kitkat - Walk on all fours, meowing like a cat
Wispa - Index finger on lips and say shhhhhhh
Twirl - Spin around on the spot once
Double Decker - Run around as if driving a double-decker bus.
The last person to carry out an action is out. The winner is the
last person standing.
To help your young people remember the first four chocolates
(sides of the room) it may be worth putting signs up.
