Happy Older’s American Month!! First of all, I would like to say” Welcome” to our new members!!! We are so excited to have so many seasoned residents from the District of Columbia participate in the Model Cities Senior Wellness Center Program. We offer an array of Fitness, Nutrition and Social Activities to stimulate your mind, body and spirit. Take a closer look at this calendar and choose the days that best fit your schedule. Finally, the weather is changing and we’re looking for more consistently warm days. So, come out and make some new friends and fellowship with us. Next month, we celebrate Men’s Health Day. We’re calling all men to participate in June for exercise or to attend the Nutrition Class. We want to help you get started or maintaining a healthier lifestyle. See Jandel Benjamin for more information. There are seventy senior volunteers at Model Cities whom we celebrated in the month of April with an Award Luncheon. Again, Congratulations to all of you and “Thank you” for giving your time to make this the best Senior Wellness Center in Town. All Intake and Physician Forms must be update annually. Linda Smith or Gloria Franklin- Austin would love to assist you. Always treat people the way you want to be treated!!!!!!

Older American Month

;;

Every May, the Administration on Aging, part of the Administration for Community Living, leads our nation's observance of Older American's Month. The 2018 theme, Engage at Every Age, emphasizes that you are never too old (or young) to take part in activities that can enrich your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It also celebrates the many ways in which older adults make a difference in our communities.

Participating in activities that promote mental and physical wellness, offering your wisdom and

experience to the next generation, seeking the mentorship of someone with more life experience

than you—those are just a few examples of what being engaged can mean. No matter where you

are in your life, there is no better time than now to start. We hope you will join in and Engage at

Every Age!

Use the materials, activities, and resources on this site to promote and celebrate #OAM18
