We are approaching the end of our first theme for our new year of G.I.F.T. and getting excited to launch our second theme which will run from November 29 through February 14.

We have 287 people registered to be part of G.I.F.T. this year, 98 of which are chil-dren in our N.E.T. Catholic parishes. In October we hand delivered lessons for each of the children along with an at-home ritual—material to create a Sacred Space at home. For each week we provided instructions on how to take a few minutes each day to deepen our relationship with God. In the past two months we’ve also begun our Confirmation program, and had both a Jr High and a Sr High Youth night on Zoom where we played some games, checked in with each other, talked a bit about faith, and closed with prayer. We’ve had four family in-person gatherings at our parishes where families came for Mass, shared in a brown bag din-ner, then took part in some family faith formation. We’ve also had one of our two adult in-person gathering which began with Mass and was followed by a time of catechesis. The alternate adult in-person gathering will take place this Monday, Nov 16, at 6:30pm at Our Lady of the Lake, King Ferry—if you would like to join us, but haven’t yet signed up, please contact Dawn

We’ve also created a new faith formation website. www.GrowingInFaithTogether.org which houses all of the video lessons and other resources both for children and adults. In addition to the option for adult in person gather-ings, Fr. Daniel is offering online teaching Adoration and

Benediction every Thursday at 8:30 pm on our Facebook and YouTube.

In the coming week we will be delivering the next set of resources and at-home ritu-als to our families with chil-dren in faith formation. We’ll send you an email to let you know the day we’re coming. You don’t need to be home to receive the ma-terial, but if you are, we’d love the chance to say hi and check in.

In our next theme, we’ll spend time learning about Incarna-tion and Revelation, and of course Advent and Christmas. We will provide families with a wealth of resources so they can best help their domestic church grow in faith, hope and love.

If you haven’t yet had a chance to register to be part of G.I.F.T. 2.0, it’s not too late! Visit www.GrowingInFaithTogether.org to find out more about our faith formation initiative for people of all ages, and to register. If you have any questions, please contact Dawn at 607-288-2476 or email [email protected]

Holy Cross Thanksgiving Baskets and Giving Trees Supporting our community during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. This year the school will not be handling the assignment of families in need as they have done in the past. The social workers at the schools will be directing families in need to the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army will need additional resources this year to cover the increased needs they will be working to fulfill. We at the school have been told we can directly donate financially to the Salvation Army in Ithaca or if we wish to purchase items directly for a family, we are to contact that organization. Given the need for reducing the public exposure that happens with shopping, Ann Marie Streeter and Lisa Schug want to share the following giving opportunities with our parish as an alternative to our traditional practices: • sponsor a Dryden child or family directly by contacting

the Salvation Army directly at 607-273-2400 and talking with Stacey McNeil.

    • House an Angel Tree at your business and employees or other community members can select tags for children~Contact the Salvation Army at 607-273-2400 to find out the requirements

    • Gift cards for groceries, gas or specific stores can be donated to the Salvation Army

    • Monetary donations can be provided to the Salvation Army, with the promise that your gift will remain in the community. If writing a check, make sure it is written to the Salvation Army Dryden Service Unit. These donations can be mailed to the Salvation Army at 150 N. Albany St., Ithaca, NY 14850 or donated during the bell ringing at Clark’s Food Mart.

    • As far as Thanksgiving, the Dryden Kitchen Cupboard (6 North St, Dryden, NY 13053) supplies much of this and would welcome monetary donations if anyone is interested.

Please send your contributions for the Thanksgiving slideshow to [email protected]
